Listen along as Tanis Parenteau's impeccable narration, capturing the rhythms of Navajo speech, fully envelopes you into the Sixth World. An excellent story of fighting for --
Revisado: 04-17-19
This is an excellent story in a world soon after ours. A woman fighting against monsters (inside and out), but she is not yet sure what she is fighting for. Where we the five fingered and the supernatural ones who travel by lightning walk near each other and speak together. This is a world of myth that is wondrous though strange to me, but author clearly knows and loves the old tales out of which she creates this new one.

Historia
The guru to the gurus at last shares his knowledge with the rest of us. Nobel laureate Daniel Kahneman's seminal studies in behavioral psychology, behavioral economics, and happiness studies have influenced numerous other authors, including Steven Pinker and Malcolm Gladwell. In Thinking, Fast and Slow, Kahneman at last offers his own, first book for the general public. It is a lucid and enlightening summary of his life's work. It will change the way you think about thinking. Two systems drive the way we think and make choices, Kahneman explains....

An excellent performance of an excellent book.
Revisado: 08-15-16
I first read this book some decades ago and really enjoyed it. I'm very glad to have listened to this. The performance is great, and the story takes on new depths with my greater appreciation of planetary environmentalism and of desert tribal cultures.

An excellent , very well researched & written book
Revisado: 02-20-16
This mixes the well told detailed story of a nuclear missile accident and all the people involved with the history of nuclear weapons in the US. It opened my eyes to much more of what was going on, and what might have or might yet happen. Truly enlightening and at times terrifying.

W.E.B. Du Bois said, on the launch of his groundbreaking 1903 treatise, The Souls of Black Folk, "for the problem of the 20th century is the problem of the color-line", a prescient statement. Setting out to show to the audience "the strange meaning of being black here in the dawning of the 20th century", Du Bois explains the meaning of the emancipation, and its effect, and his views on the roles of the leaders of his race.

Historia
Bewitched by Indonesia for twenty-five years, Elizabeth Pisani recently traveled 26,000 miles around the archipelago in search of the links that bind this impossibly disparate nation. Fearless and funny, Pisani shares her deck space with pigs and cows, bunks down in a sulfurous volcano, and takes tea with a corpse. Along the way, she observes Big Men with child brides, debates corruption and cannibalism, and ponders "sticky" traditions that cannot be erased.

Neanderthal Man tells the story of geneticist Svante Pbo’s mission to answer that question, beginning with the study of DNA in Egyptian mummies in the early 1980s and culminating in his sequencing of the Neanderthal genome in 2009.
