I absolutely adored this title. And, as a Hoosier, I can confirm the authenticity of the subject matter. This was extremely well-written and the performance excellent. It’s definitely a great story, entertaining and I belly laughed so many times I got an ab workout. Do yourself a favor and read or listen to this. Swear, you won’t be disappointed. Great work, ladies!

Hot and angsty

I really enjoyed the story and the characters. The steamy scenes were off the charts. The struggle between and within the characters was superbly written. I wanted to simultaneously root Diana on and slap her upside the head. The only suggestion for improvement would be to read rather than listen. The voice actor was okay, but there were times that the characters sounded a little slow and whiney. I think I would have enjoyed this title written not heard. Characters and story top notch.

Great story and great performance

I like both Georgia Beers and Lori Prince. These two make a great pair for storytelling. I liked all the characters by the end. I was not amused with Benton to begin with, but it worked out. I like the MC pairing and there was just enough conflict to keep you burning through to what happens next. I definitely recommend this title.

Just, wow.

I’m not usually into non-fiction. But, I find Portia captivating, not because she’s beautiful or talented or intelligent (though she is all of those things). I find her to be thoughtful, kind and sincere. After reading this, I find her to be courageous as well. This is an open and honest telling of such a deeply personal life challenge. It was difficult to get through the story because there are points when you question how her self perception can be so off from who she really is. But that’s the disease. The conclusions she draws about self acceptance and living your truth are spot on. It’s a great listen for anyone struggling with eating issues or self discovery issues. Well done.

Good book, bad voice actor

This is another book that would’ve been more enjoyable if I’d read it instead of listened to it. The narrator had a lisp or something. Nothing against folks with lisps, but it’s distracting like this. And, it sure didn’t help hearing it during the intimate scene. She also read that like an owner’s manual or something. Again, good book, but probably best to read this one.

Good story, terrible voice acting

The story was good. I like the Jay character and love the mix of other known characters. I’m so disappointed with the voice acting. This is the second book I’ve listened to with this actor and I will have to avoid her in the future. Her main character and narration are fine. But, when she tries to do the alternate lead or a male voice it’s terrible. It sounds like either a petulant teenaged boy or someone with a hearing disability. It seriously takes away from the enjoyment of a solid story.

Story good, voice actor terrible

It was really hard to get beyond how poor the voice actor was. Some of the voices were high and whiney and the others sounded like someone with a hearing disability. It really took away from the story. That’s really disappointing because the Rivers series had been enjoyable.
