Historia
Zahra Kane is a brilliant and daring archaeologist. The former British Army Intelligence linguist has used her fluency in a laundry list of languages, as well as her combat training, to succeed at the highest level. The intrepid adventurer isn't afraid to get her hands dirty or blow past the point of no return to obtain her prize. Late one night, she receives a frantic phone call from her estranged brother, an Egyptologist who's been tasked with examining a newly discovered tomb and the prize it contains: the original Book of the Dead-a scroll made of human skin and penned in human blood.

Maybe I'll Try Reading Instead
Revisado: 10-05-23
Story seemed interesting but I couldn't get into it with the narration. Performance came across as young adult and didn't match tone of the story. I'll try reading it instead. Maybe it will be better.

Historia
Since his wife, Michelle, left seven years ago, Jeffy Coltrane has worked to maintain a normal life for himself and his 11-year-old daughter, Amity, in Suavidad Beach. It’s a quiet life, until a local eccentric known as Spooky Ed shows up on their doorstep. Ed entrusts Jeffy with hiding a strange and dangerous object - something he calls “the key to everything” - and tells Jeffy that he must never use the device. But after a visit from a group of ominous men, Jeffy and Amity find themselves accidentally activating the key and discovering an extraordinary truth.

Didn't like one narrator
Revisado: 12-11-20
I love Dean Koontz stories but will have to actually read this one instead of listening on Audible. Narrator for Amity drags story down. She is annoying and way too slow. I just want to say "Come on. Spit it out!"
I'm still early in the story and the one thing that jumped out at me was that the trouble Amity & her father find themselves in is because Amity's father, Jeffrey, listened to an 11 yr old instead of using common sense. I'm thinking "Really? How stupid are you?"

Historia
Two blood-spattered strangers awake, locked in the trunk of a car - with a murdered cop and the smoking gun. Aside from raging headaches and no idea what's happened, they appear to have nothing in common. Troy thinks it's 2001 and he's still a combat surgeon fighting terrorists in Afghanistan. Emmy believes it's 2002 and she's still grifting a living from the streets of L.A.

Interesting story?
Revisado: 04-15-19
Interesting premise but I could not finish the audiobook. The staccato voice was very distracting. The voice also sounded older than the characters. Perhaps I'll just read the book later.
