loved Vienne and Dane. i was rooting for them to trust each other...and equally rooting for the downfall of the various villains. i was just as tired as Vienne by the end of it all. love the humorous elements. kind of soap-operaish with all the twists and turns. but i loved it. more than once i was frozen mid-activity with my hands out, eyes wide, mouth hanging open awaiting whatever happened next. even so, one or two scenes at the reception went on a little longer than I'd have liked. still 5 star worthy

wonderful world building. lovable characters. skilled narrator

really enjoyed the story.the author's depiction of the undergarden, the goose pond, the tower, etc. pulled me in and held my attention. I was/am also rooting for the Night Prince who I was more disappointed in than disliked. as much as I enjoyed the story I was frustrated with a few plot points: details of the curse and its eventual breaking. Runson's lies and offensive behaviors that went unpunished. the extent of the Night Prince's powers etc. I'd have liked more explanation to understand their respective actions. but i got over it.

Warmed My Heart

Really enjoyed the story, enough to buy the sequel and hear how this tale ends despite the imperfect recording. I attribute the extended pauses and intermittent background noises to poor editing. The narrator is talented but I disliked some of her pronunciation choices and occasional poorly paced sentences. and yet. I want to see these brave women ruling. Long live the queen! excellent world building. beautiful love stories. Give these girls their happy endings.

A Proper Mystery

I read the critiques of this book and don't understand any of them. To each his own, I suppose. I loved every minute of it. The characters, the pace and complex reveal of the story. This writer knows his stuff and so does the narrator. Read after the DC Smith series to be as invested in the characters as I was. Will recommend.

Excellent narration. Good story.

The lengthy soliloquies are a bit draining. but I'm glad I stuck it out and allowed the story to develop. Full of suspense and plot twists; particularly the last 3 hours. Love the male narrator. The vulgar language was occasionally jarring, but I was warned.

finally we see Dan as a proper copper! loved every breadcrumb of this well layered story. didnt want it to end. oh and im starting a petition to fire archer...she was the only villain here :/

I Cried Like a Baby

Listened at 1.2 -> 1.5. A few wordy stretches but wow what a love story. Didn't think I'd come to root for the barbarian King William but his loyalty to Matilda brought me to tears. Excellent performance.

I laughed. I cried. I swooned. Great story. beautiful imagery and vivid characters. performance is stellar. mind the racy bits. side note. if I were a writer - this is the skill I'd want to possess.

entertaining from beginning to end

great performance and a standout in the series for me. enjoyed the plot twists (tho Anne's story could have been a bit more complex) and the character growth. Magni is my fave but Jonah is a close second. also enjoyed Milla and Jonah's relationship being built on communication. Laura and Raven at that age drove me CRAZY with their dangerous immaturity amd lack of situational awareness

great performance. i appreciated the slow, deliberate pace of the narrator and assume it was to mirror Wyatt's relaxed rhythm. Might be my fave of the series. This story kept me on the edge of my seat.
