Historia
Anna Fox lives alone - a recluse in her New York City home, unable to venture outside. She spends her day drinking wine (maybe too much), watching old movies, recalling happier times...and spying on her neighbors. Then the Russells move into the house across the way: a father, mother, their teenaged son. The perfect family. But when Anna, gazing out her window one night, sees something she shouldn't, her world begins to crumble. And its shocking secrets are laid bare.

What Stephen King said…
Revisado: 12-12-23
Simply “unputdownable”. So freaking good. I love psychological stories and this is definitely one of the best ones I’ve read!

Historia
Biz knows how to float. She has her people, her posse, her mom, and the twins. She has Grace. And she has her dad, who tells her about the little kid she was, and who shouldn't be here but is. So Biz doesn't tell anyone anything. Not about her dark, runaway thoughts, not about kissing Grace or noticing Jasper, the new boy. And she doesn't tell anyone about her dad. Because her dad died when she was seven. And Biz knows how to float, right there on the surface - normal, okay, regular, fine.

Amazing
Revisado: 12-04-23
The author captured Biz’s illness beautifully. Mental illness is more common than one might think. I don’t even have proper words to describe how tragically amazing this book is. Read it!

Historia
My whole world changed when I stepped inside the academy. Nothing is right about this place or the other students in it. Here I am, a mere mortal among gods...or monsters. I still can't decide which of these warring factions I belong to, if I belong at all. I only know the one thing that unites them is their hatred of me. Then there's Jaxon Vega. A vampire with deadly secrets who hasn't felt anything for a hundred years.

Eye rolling but overall decent
Revisado: 12-07-22
This is a combination of Twilight and House of Night and fairly predictable. It was decent overall, but oh my god did I roll my eyes NUMEROUS times. There was so much damn emphasis on their “hot/sexy bodies”, like…okay…we get it. You don’t have to be so damn vain. And if I had to hear “for a moment/second..JUST a moment/second” one more time I’d have stabbed myself in the eye. I audibly groaned because it occurs so frequently. And the “AF” part was also annoying. These kids (no spoilers here) are supposed to be capable of this all-consuming love and yet focus on physical appearance and say “AF” this frequently? Also HOW DID SHE NOT GUESS WHAT THEY WERE SOONER?! It was obvious! Maybe I’m being overly judgmental. Who knows. Overall not bad though. Just not one I’d reread.

After fleeing an abusive husband with her six-year-old son, Tommie, Beverly is attempting to create a new life for them in a small town off the beaten track. Despite their newfound freedom, Beverly is constantly on guard: she creates a fake backstory, wears a disguise around town, and buries herself in DIY projects to stave off anxiety. But her stress only rises when Tommie insists he’d been hearing someone walking on the roof and calling his name late at night.
