A lot of exhaustive repetition

The prose itself isn't so bad in this novel... but there's just a lot of extraneous detail that is not interesting or adding to the story. He really really belabors the point in many places. The writing just says the same thing over and over. I mean to say that I found myself reading multiple sentences when just one would do. Sometimes the point would be made over and over.

Why is the main character so dumb?

I'm about halfway through the book and I just cannot listen to this guy not understand the obvious things anymore it's just so irritating! and he writes comic books and he didn't understand the alternate reality thing like instantly.... Actually other than that irritation it's a pretty decent book the writing's okay the plot is good even if the pacing belabors the dude's dumbness ...you know.... okay I changed my mind I like this book now.

I just found these characters un interesting and their banter was boring and very sort of standard. and I felt like the pacing was bad I don't know if it was the reader or what but it just was boring.

It's real real bad, and I have a pretty high tolerance considering how rarely litrpg books are any good. Is it a Russian translation? That's how it reads.

this model started off okay but it just really went nowhere it's very frustrating to me how many authors of this genre don't understand that there should be a climax to a novel instead of just a petering out

Hogwarts meets hunger games. but charming.

I really enjoy this book and I'm looking forward to the sequel. it has all of the good parts of YA novels with popularity and who sits where at the lunch table and who's dating who but then there's also a boarding school full of monsters that might eat you. my review isn't doing it justice, it's a really good book

the prose is passable, the characters are okay, but there's a distinct lack of rising action/ climax/falling action. it just keeps going, and the characters just keep having the same arguments and it's boring, so boring.

this book desperately needs an Editor to chop out all of the crap. also some kind of climax at the end that actually tied up a part of the story would be nice. there was a big fight at the end but it didn't actually like resolve anything so what was the f****** point? and yet I genuinely enjoyed it even with its flaws
