Historia
City-by-city, kingdom-by-kingdom, the Palleseen have sworn to bring Perfection and Correctness to an imperfect world. Which is where Yasnic, one-time priest, healer and rebel, finds himself. Reprieved from the gallows and sent to war clutching a box of orphan Gods, he has been sequestered to a particularity unorthodox medical unit.

Too long or just too slow?
Revisado: 01-17-25
Drags on. Nearly DNF. Could not connect with the characters. The penultimate plot resolution was too little and too late.

The first book in an excellent series.
Revisado: 09-24-24
Original story that combines some very unique concepts and a well thought out look at humanity given a set of "What if's?" The characters are great and you can feel the combination of the two incredibly talented authors styles blending together harmoniously. I thoroughly enjoyed the first and second books and around the third felt like the story was losing it's way but I was very wrong. It's just setting up an even better story that all adds up to a fantastic and thoughtful ending.

Fantastic. I loved the heroes and hated the bad guys. Great character development and story. The action scenes (there are a lot of them) were well written and easy to follow. By far, it's one of the best RPG-Lit stories I've listened to and would have loved another 10 hours of their adventures.

Historia
The Galactic Consensus arrived on ships as large as skyscrapers, crafted from glittering alloys that no human scientist could even begin to understand. They followed the trail of century-old television transmissions to welcome us into the galactic community...only to recoil in horror at what they found. They concluded that humans were unfit to be trusted with the advanced technologies that member-states of the Consensus freely traded with each other.

Never have I muttered "ugh" so many times.
Revisado: 09-24-24
This reads like you're playing a boring dungeon crawler with an annoying party you don't like who constantly complains and then makes excuses for each other. Might possibly be the best instruction book on being co-dependent ever written. Cringeworthy. I tried "picking" it back up three times and at a little over half way through, couldn't finish it due to the toxic nature of the characters relationship.

Needs a better ending.
Revisado: 05-21-18
Narration was decent. I loved the characters individual stories and the plot weavings. The science and how the characters deal with relativistic flight was good but the ending left me flat.

Andy doesn't disappoint in being unique in his take on things. For those that tend to want to know more about the Lokis, Lex Luthors and Skeletors of the story, this is the book. My only complaint is that it wasn't long enough.

Historia
In celebration of the week-long, once-in-a-decade rite of Apert, the fras and suurs prepare to venture outside the concent's gates - opening them wide at the same time to welcome the curious "extras" in. During his first Apert as a fra, Erasmus eagerly anticipates reconnecting with the landmarks and family he hasn't seen since he was "collected". But before the week is out, both the existence he abandoned and the one he embraced will stand poised on the perilous brink of cataclysmic change.

Non-standard use of language in the beginning made it hard to keep up with the subtleties of what was going on combined with a very slow and excruciatingly long "start" left me just wanting this book finished. Don't let this be your first book by Stephenson.

Historia
Fraa Erasmus is a young avout living in the Concent of Saunt Edhar, a sanctuary for mathematicians, scientists, and philosophers, protected from the corrupting influences of the "Saecular" world by ancient stone, honored traditions, and complex rituals. Over the centuries, cities, and governments have risen and fallen beyond the concent's walls. Three times during history's darkest epochs, bloody violence born of superstition and ignorance has invaded and devastated the cloistered mathic community.

Historia
Before Liz Lemon, before Weekend Update, before Sarah Palin, Tina Fey was just a young girl with a dream: A recurring stress dream that she was being chased through a local airport by her middle-school gym teacher. She also had a dream that one day she would be a comedian on TV. She has seen both these dreams come true. At last, Tina Fey's story can be told. From her youthful days as a vicious nerd to her tour of duty on Saturday Night Live. Tina Fey reveals all, and proves what we've always suspected: You're no one until someone calls you bossy.

Makes me wish I had known her growing up
Revisado: 02-17-12
Loved the book. I'm so glad Tina Fey read her own book. Who better to deliver Tina Fey's words than... Tina Fey. And they are truly fabulous words. She is so honest and funny and "human". I listened to this on a long drive in the car and when I stopped for fuel after three hours of hearing her read the stories of who she is and how she came to be where she is, I had the urge to ask Tina if she wanted anything from the snack shop.... It was as though we had been having a friendly (and extremely one sided) chat for the past few hours.
Easy going, funny, charming, engaging. It was all good.
If you're looking for 5 hours of Tina Fey doing stand-up, this isn't it. If instead, you're looking for a humorous romp through her life's high points and low points, moments of triumph and embarrassments, this will keep you entertained.
