Not my favorite of her books - awful narration!

I don't know if the narrator was faking a bad NY accent or if that is how she really talks, but it was awful to listen to. I almost quit 30 minutes in but was on a road trip and this was my only thing to listen to. I would not listen to anything by this narrator again! Overall the story wasn't fantastic, not her best work - just mildly entertaining. One interesting plot twist that I didn't see but overall you could tell where it was going. Also, I know most thrillers are like this and make the main character insufferable but this one was one of the worst I have read - you just wanted to strangle her!

Wow. Just wow. She is amazing and I thoroughly enjoyed hearing her detail out her life. If was tough to hear but understanding her back story is truly enlightening

Didn't love the story line or narrator

The story line was quite slow and drawn out and none of the characters were terribly likable. My least favorite part about the book was the narrator. The woman was fine, but she was clearly someone much older and trying to do voices of women in their 20's and it was just so mis-matched it made it hard to listen to. I would definitely recommend a narrator that can better represent the characters

Same review and book 2 - entertaining and thriller

Same review as I gave to book 2 in this series, I was confused by the different narrator from book 1, I wish it would have been consistent. Overall - good conclusion to the overall story, you really get invested with these characters. Slightly disappointing ending, but it kept me entertained - I would recommend.

Great followup to the initial story

This is an entertaining thriller, but I found it very confusing the extreme difference in the narrator from the first book to the 2nd and 3rd. I was so used to the voices of the characters from the first one that I struggled the first half of this book with this narrator. It wasn't that the narrator was bad, it just really made the characters very different than the 1st book. If you are going to have a series Audible - I would highly recommend the same narrator. Overall this is a great story though, quite entertaining!

Mildly entertaining- took a long time to the point

If you think this is a story about a daughter that keeps her mother locked in the attic, you are right - and that is what 3/4 of the book is about. It is long and drawn out. While it is entertaining, there isn't a lot to it until you get to the in depth details of "why" towards the end of the book. I would pass on this one if I had the choice again.

Fantastic performance, terrible plot and story

Ray Porter was amazing as always and the only reason I listened as long as I did, I made it about 4 hours in and had to return it. Very, very think plot and little story - hard to follow and not all that interesting.
