Historia
Jim was never a religious man. When it came to matters of God and faith, he was ambivalent. But as he lay in the hospital bed, clinically dead for more than 11 hours, his consciousness was transported to the wonders of Heaven and the horrors of hell. When he returned to this world, he brought back the missing piece his soul had been longing for.

Outstanding!!
Revisado: 02-09-18
I have been dealing with depression all my life. I am in my mid-60’s and have read so many books on this subject,it makes my head spin! All to no avail. But Lost Connections was a whole, entirely new view about the causes of depression. It made me wish that I could have known all of this information when I was a teenager! I would recommend this book to anyone battling this awful dis-connect, because it is well worth the time and gives you so much well researched information, that is different than any other book on the subject. I gave it five stars because it opened my eyes to many things in my life, starting with my childhood, to the present day. If you suffer from depression, please read or take a listen to this book! Johann Hari has nailed it and the audible was done by him as well! What a life changing message and REAL help it was for me! It’s never too late!

Being an empath can be a great thing, but it can also be quite hard. You're very in tune with the emotions of others, but often, it's a struggle for yourself, and you tend to get overwhelmed. However, what if there was a way to help alleviate that problem? There is, and this book can assist you with that.

Too much repetition!!
Revisado: 09-24-17
It was good in the beginning, but an intelligent person (which most Empaths are, I believe) can catch on to this information quickly. So, in my opinion, I thought the book was much too long and used and reused the same wording so much that I found my mind drifting often.

Historia
"Having empathy means our heart goes out to another person in joy or pain," says Dr. Judith Orloff. "But for empaths, it goes much further. We actually feel others' emotions, energy, and physical symptoms in our own bodies, without the usual defenses that most people have." The Empath's Survival Guide is an invaluable resource for empaths who want to develop coping skills in a high-stimulus world while embracing their gifts of intuition, compassion, creativity, and spiritual connection.

Very informative!
Revisado: 09-12-17
I knew I was an Empath, but didn't realize the extreme extent of all of the different types one could be blessed with at all! I am a bit overwhelmed to have learned I am a highly sensitive empath, with so many traits that it will take me some time to assimilate it all. I appreciate the many tools provided and explained by the author. At least I have a base to start with to help me with many situations and people and my own personal feelings, to keep myself healthy. This book answered questions about myself as a child too! It gave me a sense of "belonging" to a group of unknown friends and some that I do know who are apaths. I would like to start a group but not sure if I know enough people in my circle to do so. I will check out Judith's website for help with that.

Ruth Jefferson is a labor and delivery nurse at a Connecticut hospital with more than 20 years’ experience. During her shift, Ruth begins a routine checkup on a newborn, only to be told a few minutes later that she’s been reassigned to another patient. The hospital complies with their request, but the next day, the baby goes into cardiac distress while Ruth is alone in the nursery. Does she obey orders or does she intervene?

A Must Read for Everyone!
Revisado: 03-02-17
I wish we had a book like this to read when I was younger! The part that resonated with me is when white people say "I don't see color". We may not be prejudiced, but we truly do not understand how very privileged we are, until we look at real life, and notice how African Americans are treated much differently in just everyday life. This book made me more acutely aware of that and so much more! Can't wait to discuss this book at my book club tonight!
