I’m becoming a Douglas Preston fan
Revisado: 12-04-22
I like the science aspect of his fictional tales. He also does not force you to endure lurid sexual scenes like some other adventure writers.

Revisado: 09-09-22
Interesting but I was tempted to stop listening a couple of times. The description of the action was hard to follow. If you don’t understand nautical terms it’s a struggle to visualize what was happening.

Disappointed

Too much sex and violence. The story was too convoluted and not believable even for science fiction.

Written by Rex Stout all the elements were there. For some reason Michael Prichard’s performance was just a shade off the mark on this one. His voice characterizations were not quite as good as in some previous readings. All in all a good Nero Wolfe mystery.

Historia
When wealthy and popular crusader and reformer Lester Pierce is gunned down in front of his Park Avenue residence, the public outcry forces the NYPD to restructure its homicide department. As the deceased was highly critical of Inspector Lionel Cramer, the longtime head of homicide is temporarily relieved of his badge. But it seems Cramer was not just a scapegoat. He was seen dining in Little Italy with mob kingpin Ralph Mars. If Cramer's provisional replacement, Captain George Rowcliff, becomes permanent, PI Nero Wolfe's future dealings with the force will be much compromised.

Millions of people have thrilled to best-selling authors Bill O'Reilly and historian Martin Dugard's Killing Kennedy and Killing Lincoln, works of nonfiction that have changed the way we view history. Now the anchor of The O'Reilly Factor details the events leading up to the murder of the most influential man in history: Jesus of Nazareth. Nearly 2,000 years after this beloved and controversial young revolutionary was brutally killed by Roman soldiers, more than 2.2 billion human beings attempt to follow his teachings and believe he is God.

Dead at 33
Revisado: 08-24-19
O'Reilly spins a good yarn, Since I am somewhat familiar with the original tale, it was interesting to see how he doctored it up, He claims Jesus died at 36 and he put other words in Jesus' mouth that they did not tell us about in Sunday school. All-in-all it was a pretty good parody of the original. For me, it was a lesson on how a good news man can spin the news. Albeit fake news.

Historia
Nero Wolfe is a fictional detective, created in 1934 by the American mystery writer Rex Stout. Wolfe's confidential assistant Archie Goodwin narrates the cases of the overweight detective genius. In total, Stout wrote 33 novels and 39 short stories from 1934 to 1974, with most of them set in New York City. Wolfe's residence, a luxurious brownstone on West 35th Street, features prominently in the series. Many radio, television and film adaptations were made from Stout's stories.

Historia
Our universe is ruled by physics, and faster-than-light travel is not possible - until the discovery of The Flow, an extradimensional field we can access at certain points in space-time that transports us to other worlds, around other stars. Humanity flows away from Earth, into space, and in time forgets our home world and creates a new empire, the Interdependency, whose ethos requires that no one human outpost can survive without the others. It's a hedge against interstellar war - and a system of control for the rulers of the empire.

Too contrived
Revisado: 05-29-17
The author made up too many hard to believe scenarios. Used names from literature and movies we would recognize from present day babel. It was more of a political novel using Guilds, Lords, and Lady's than Science fiction. I am willing to stretch my belief system pretty far but there wasn't even an attempt to explain what the "flow" is supposed to be. The author seems to have a good sense of political intrigue but overall I was very disappointed.
