Historia
William Chanokh is immortal...and he’s trapped on the Galahad, an interstellar starship on a never-ending journey through open space. His only companions are Capria - mortal and in cryo-sleep - and Gal, an artificial intelligence, and the love of his life, with whom he spends every waking moment in the "Great Escape". After untold years living countless lives, Gal begins acting strange. Betrayed by his digital love, his long-term memory overwritten, and enduring violent manipulation, Will painfully peels back layers of simulation, fighting to reach reality 1.0...

Wasn't what I was expecting, and that's okay!
Revisado: 04-12-21
I loved Infinite. It was the book that explained simulation theory well enough for me to understand it for the first time. Since then, I've thought a lot about it and have even developed some of my own story ideas around it. This book is very different from the first novel and was not what I was expecting, but damn was it good. I love Jeremy Robinson's creativity and quirkiness and loved the author's note and outtakes at the end. Appreciate the work of both Jeremy and RC (Whose voice I followed to this novel).

Historia
The Galahad, a faster-than-light spacecraft, carries 50 scientists and engineers on a mission to prepare Kepler 452b, Earth's nearest habitable neighbor at 1400 light years away. With Earth no longer habitable and the Mars colony slowly failing, they are humanity's best hope. After 10 years in a failed cryogenic bed - body asleep, mind awake - William Chanokh's torture comes to an end as the fog clears, the hatch opens, and his friend and fellow hacker, Tom, greets him...by stabbing a screwdriver into his heart. This is the first time William dies.

A captivating story that makes you think
Revisado: 04-23-18
This book took me a bit to get in to, but when it hits, it really hits. Loved the dialog about the implications of living in a simulation, the scientific tie in with background radiation, the realistic interactions and behaviors of an AI/HI, and the number of storylines that could've made this a series but made for an action packed book.
This is a book that has me thinking hours after finishing it. Great work!

"True belonging doesn't require us to change who we are. It requires us to be who we are." Social scientist Brené Brown, PhD, LMSW, has sparked a global conversation about the experiences that bring meaning to our lives - experiences of courage, vulnerability, love, belonging, shame, and empathy. In Braving the Wilderness, Brown redefines what it means to truly belong in an age of increased polarization.

Excellent and inspiring
Revisado: 01-02-18
Let me just say it, I suck at loving people, and basically having compassion of any sort. However, I have recognized this and have been trying to think of ways to combat it. This book has helped confirm some ideas I've had on how to grow in the area of compassion and how to try to bring people together, instead of divide them apart. Excellent book, highly recommend.

Historia
Colonel Joe Bishop made a promise and he's going to keep it; taking the captured alien starship Flying Dutchman back out. He doesn't agree when the UN decides to send almost 70 elite Special Operations troops, hotshot pilots, and scientists with him; the mission is a fool's errand he doesn't expect to ever return from. At least, this time, the Earth is safe, right? Not so much.

Great but a little repetitive
Revisado: 12-25-17
This book was great just like the first one. There's a mountain of creativity in this book that is pure genius as it regards how the crew solve complex problems that seem to have no answer. My only complaint is that whenever one of these situations arises, the back and forth is almost identical.
Skippy: "There's no way around this one. I am amazing and have ran through every possibility."
Joe: "I have an idea."
Skippy: "Oh please don't tell me you were trying to think with your monkey brain again. Did you not hear me? We are doomed."
Joe: (Explains idea)
Skippy: "Dammit. I hadn't thought of that."
Once or twice would be fine, but this conversation happened about eighteen times in this book alone.
Still going to grab the next book. I just hope Skippy learns that sometimes humans have good ideas, as history has now clearly indicated.

Historia
We were fighting on the wrong side of a war we couldn't win. And that was the good news. The Ruhar hit us on Columbus Day. There we were, innocently drifting along the cosmos on our little blue marble, like the native Americans in 1492. Over the horizon come ships of a technologically advanced, aggressive culture, and BAM! There go the good old days, when humans only got killed by each other. So, Columbus Day. It fits. When the morning sky twinkled again, this time with Kristang starships jumping in to hammer the Ruhar, we thought we were saved.

Great story and great voice
Revisado: 12-06-17
I am really digging this series so far. The story is big and doesn’t spend countless hours trying to cover things we simply don’t understand, like how wormholes look, how alien toilets operate, etc. I love the narrator’s voice and range which is perfect for the main character. There is plenty of soft humor and some points that had me laughing, which is typically rare in audio books. Looking forward to the next installment!

This was a great book recommended time by Ben Shapiro. I don't usually read mysteries so this was exciting and kept me guessing until the last few minutes. Now I want to listen again!

Great book, but consider buying it in print
Revisado: 12-15-16
What made the experience of listening to Do More Better the most enjoyable?
The content was full of practical tips and information to help improve personal productivity. It provides step by step walkthroughs of generating a solid outline for your day, the tools you use, and how to use them. I am already benefitting from this.
What other book might you compare Do More Better to and why?
Four Hour Workweek (Ferriss) and What's Best Next (Perman)
Any additional comments?
The audio version is a bit of a challenge, because the book has several "Action Steps" where you will want to stop the audio, and go do the step. While it is only a couple hours long, it took a few hours more than that to get through, because of actually following the book's instruction. In other words, this isn't a book you'll want to listen to on your work commute or while jogging, but rather while you're at a computer following the "steps". If that is a problem for you, then I would highly recommend the print format instead.
