The first book - pretty dang good. I used to think it was one of my top listens. But then she finds her stride and creates this. I didn't rate it my first listen. No, I listened again, because I was SURE I missed little details while my own imagination conjured images, froze in horror, gasped for breath fearing to make a peep, possibly blacking out due to the lack of oxygen and then yelling random curses. I really enjoy the two narrator separation. it shifted my energy and mindset. The Buture Games must continue. I am particularly fascinated with the small details, that when caught, start a flurry of wild thoughts causing a lapse in listening. Thank goodness for the 30 sec back button!

I had just been hacked, minutes before bedtime. I was in knots and needed to destress. it worked I didn't feel manic. I was able to sleep. Gratitude!

Magickal Brontesque

I love a story that has just enough everything. Held my breath, laughed out loud, felt for the villans, felt for the heroes. I was lost somewhere in a Bronte and Alcott goes to Downton. Being a person like the Bishops, I found it entirely credible with accurate correspondences to herbs and crystals. The incantations were done very well. The characters still had to work the mundane. It just hit all the important qualities for a historical fiction and magickal fiction blend. I appreciate the narrator and her ability to tell a story. Character voices, mostly, were pleasant, a little difficulty with the American accents. But the narration felt acted, not read. (I'm sure there is a better term for her portrayals.) The opening credits by Harriet Bishop sets the tone. Beautiful!

Predictable

I had the plot figured out imediately. I think I would have enjoyed the story more if not for the narrator. Her style of reading is a little irritating to me. The children's voices were painful to listen to and her version of Constance's characters voice made the character sound dumb and timid. The language of times did not fit her renditions. Constance was bold enough to master a disguise, fool police and keep her off their radar. The read is much better than the listen. I ran to B&N to pick up a physical copy just to have a quick read over and it reads just fine. I m not at all happy with the Authors decision to keep Alice silent. This is a Lifetime Movie, not a major motion picture.

Sweet and Nostalgic

Enjoyed it. Visual. Funny. Heart-warming. The characters bring to mind a number of actors. It was like watching a movie with some of my favorites and their onscreen roles.

What a Ride

Such a good journey! Cycling through the entertaining highlights of his life, Will performs his life-experiences and obstacles out like he's sitting in a room with you...occasionally breaking out into song.... and sharing his story, like you're close friends. It's hard to step away from this and NOT say " Ya, we're tight. He tells me everything." I appreciate his wisdom, the wisdom of his family, and the life lessons that brought about this book. I am grateful for his candor, intelligence, and perspective. It could easily be seen as a self help book. Thanks Will, Love ya man
