Historia
200 years in the future, environmental catastrophe has befallen the Earth, leaving the skies and weather systems transformed into a nightmarish maelstrom of rainbow chemicals, and the city of London wiped off the map (opinion remains divided on whether or not this was the best outcome for the country).

Exciting and Entertaining
Revisado: 12-26-24
I thought this little series was a pure delight. The performers were great! The sound effects were spot on without distracting from the story. And the story itself was fantastic fantasy. Maybe a bit childish at times, and certainly unbelievable, but the story wasn't meant to be believable, and childish falls right in line with my sense of humor! A great listen!!

Historia
The moon smells like gunpowder. Every lunar walker since Apollo 11 has noticed it: a burnt-metal scent that reminds them of war. Caden Dechert, the chief of the US mining operation on the edge of the Sea of Serenity, thinks the smell is just a trick of the mind - a reminder of his harrowing days as a marine in the war-torn Middle East back on Earth. It's 2072, and lunar helium-3 mining is powering the fusion reactors that are bringing Earth back from environmental disaster.

Very Little Character Distinction
Revisado: 01-13-24
I found it challenging to connect to and keep track of different characters. I do a good job of recording character names as they are introduced, and mid-novel I was hearing names that were not on my list. I really never got into the action. The final 30 minutes of the book were encouraging but not enough to redeem the previous 7 hours. It had potential but left me wanting more.

Perhaps My Fave in the Series
Revisado: 12-20-23
Joyce is so sweet and funny! Ibrahim is so smart. Ron is such a man’s man, even down to his terrible diet and flatulence! Elizabeth is just a bad ass! And together they are the most entertaining crime solving quartet I have ever encountered. So glad to have discovered this series a few years ago.

Historia
In Ashkenazi Jewish folklore, a golem is a humanoid being created out of mud or clay and animated through secret prayers. Its sole purpose is to defend the Jewish people against the immediate threat of violence. It is always a rabbi who makes a golem, and always in a time of crisis. But Len Bronstein is no rabbi—he’s a Brooklyn art teacher who steals a large quantity of clay from his school, gets extremely stoned, and manages to bring his creation to life despite knowing little about Judaism and even less about golems.

Intense and Funny at Times
Revisado: 11-20-23
This story carries a message against extremism on both sides. It ends rather abruptly. The Golem wasn’t quite as lovable as I had hoped. But the story held my interest and it was well performed.

One bubble. Four castles. Fifteen days. Capture each one, and the stairwell is unlocked. Here's the thing. It's never easy. Carl and his team can't go it alone. Not this time. They must rely on the help of the low-level, I-can't-believe-these-idiots-are-still-alive crawlers trapped in the bubble with them. But can they be trusted?

Historia
A man. His ex-girlfriend's cat. A sadistic game show unlike anything in the universe: a dungeon crawl where survival depends on killing your prey in the most entertaining way possible. In a flash, every human-erected construction on Earth - from Buckingham Palace to the tiniest of sheds - collapses in a heap, sinking into the ground. The buildings and all the people inside have all been atomized and transformed into the dungeon: an 18-level labyrinth filled with traps, monsters, and loot.

Great Listen!!!
Revisado: 07-19-23
I will admit, the initial premise of how the surface world was destroyed was a bit ridiculous, but get over that quick, because the entire book is RIDICULOUS and it’s one of the most appealing qualities of this book! I was repeating Carl’s catchphrase before I even knew it was a catchphrase. I laughed out loud multiple times. I couldn’t wait to get back to the story, which is a sure sign of a great audiobook! I highly recommend this book.

Historia
Whether you’re a sunling or an earthling, growing up isn’t easy. Shy nine-year-old Gustafer Yellowgold has to grapple with neighborhood bullies, an over-achieving brother, and parental expectations just like kids on Earth do. He would rather lose himself in comic books and dream the day away than make deliveries for his father’s raisin-butchering business after school. Fateful events put Gustafer at his ultimate crossroad when he sees a darker opportunity to control his own destiny on the Sun.
