I loved the story but my god the main character is awful. I understand she is a literal child, but you would think she would evolve at some point. Her journey is so annoying I don’t know if I can continue the series. Hopefully she redeems herself.

Why did I wait so long?

It took a bit to really get into, but once I did, I could not put it down. Vin, Kelsier, and their journey in their own fight against the Lord Ruler were not only entertaining, but enrapturing. The relationships between the characters and the evolution of Vin made her a likable and lovable character. I could not wait and had to pick up the second and third books in the series today so I could continue the adventure!

I ate this up so quickly. Brynn weaves a wonderful tale that is not just cringey at times, but out loud hilarious. I loved this!

Chef’s kiss!

Danielle does it again! Her series is one of my favorite series ever. This time we get to hear Ana’s story, the Ithicanian princess sent to marry to save her kingdom. Action, tension, frustration, and humor are peppered beautifully throughout the tale, and the ending…wow. Danielle has easily become my author that I will buy anything from. Her writing is so superb!

Loved the narrator and the story. It was nonstop since it began, and tied in effortlessly with Iron Flame. I’m sad I finished it already, and wish that I hadn’t, it is that good!

Engaging and tense

Isla continues in her journey of self discovery and coming to terms with what it means to love thy enemy. In addition, she becomes aware of secrets that had been kept from her for years, secrets involving her power, her future, and the death of her parents. The journey of self discovery is complex and layered, adding more depth to Isla and her sense of self-worth. While the spice in this novel is present, it’s minimal, with the novel being very plot and character heavy, which is something I enjoyed. While scenes around spice can be introduced, it does take a bit of maneuvering for it to not feel like a gratuitous event meant to just be present for the sake of being present. This is a great YA series to hook the attention of the audience, and not gross as the reader grows in depth and complexity. I can’t wait for the next installment!

Loved the build up

I loved the use of imagery in creating and building the world that this takes place in. Picking up after the end of book one, Isla is now being coronated, her love for one man may lead to disaster, and the love for another may forever be lost. The complexity of the characters is seen as the tale unravels, and the relationships between Isla and others is one worth reading.

This was the last book in a trilogy about Damien, a son of a demon, and Amma, the sunshine to his cloudy day. I loved the banter between the characters, even the side characters, and the way that the story unfolded. Character development was exquisite, and the situations that both found themselves in were really helpful in moving the plot forward and adding some distress/action. I would highly recommend this series as the writing is done in a way that will have you cackling out loud. Also, the Audible version is to die for!
