I’ve loved Elvira since I was a little kid watching her movie, Elvira: Mistress of the Dark. I learned so much about her that I didn’t previously know and will be shelving this amongst my other all time favorite memoirs.

Like a Hallmark Movie but Sexier

I really enjoyed this fun little holiday original. The premise isn’t a new one, two co-workers agree to pretend to be an item when going home for Christmas, but the way it was brought about was fun. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and love the input from the advice columnist throughout the book. A fun read that had me laughing out loud and smiling throughout.

A New Appreciation

I first read Dracula while in college, and I remember not enjoying it that much and being rather disappointed, for I had grown up with the Coppola film version and I found that the book just didn’t suffice. Upon one of my book clubs selecting this book for our October read, I decided I would give this audio production a try. I’m so glad that I found this edition of the book as it was a wonderful performance. The full cast recording brought the story to life and helped to move the story along much better than reading the print does. I enjoyed this production so much, I may just invest in a physical copy of the book.

Found some new books to read

I first heard about this particular Great Courses lecture from a podcast that I listen to. I’m so glad I gave this one a listen as it was highly engaging and fun to listen to a more in-depth look into some of my favorite utopian and dystopian books, plus I learned about some new books that I’ve added to my to read list. I would definitely recommend this for lovers of the genre as well as sci-fi and fantasy books.

First Audible experience

Margaret Atwood's "The Handmaid's Tale" has long been a favorite story of mine, I'm not even sure how many times I've read the book, enough times though that when I found the audible version with Claire Danes narrating I knew I had to listen to it.

Claire Danes provides the right amount of inflection and emotion into the her narration to truly bring Offred's story to life. I would definitely recommend this for fans of the book, or for those who are having a hard time making their way through the book.
