Childish FMC

Fast paced romantasy. Great narrator. FMC.. ugh.. so very childish. Acts rashly, makes hasty decisions based on emotion, doesn't listen to reason and oblivious. MMC is the mysterious swoony sort, but can't see the attraction between the main characters. Mostly based on physical and close proximity. It was a little all over the place for me and I had a hard time finishing.

worst plot ever

Just ugh.. So many annoying aspects to the book. A just out of school woman with incredibly high school debt gets ridiculously high paying PA job (>200K) and spends the first part complaining about what's expected of her because she didn't read her job description the day before because she was focused on what to wear. Talks to her friends about how she wants him after the first day. He's totally creepy boss for pursing her and how he goes about it... just hits all the wrong vibes.

Another MZ slow burn but slightly missed the mark

Another MZ slow burn. I'm a fan of her writing formula. Slow burn, strong silent male of few words with more of 'actions speak louder than words" vibe, and female with realistic struggles. I like to see the slow progression and not have the story focused around sex, dirty talk, mindless flirting, etc. This one delivered but missed slightly on the male. You don't get that same zing as you would have with Kulti or Wall of Winnipeg male character transition from broading a-hole to love. I still enjoyed the book, but not the same as some of her others. The male audio is the same from Luna and the Lie and I had a hard time getting the other character out of my head in the beginning. It grows on you as you read but very abrupt voice so I can see why some like it and some don't.

"Moist Loins"

Total cliche writing. To many subplots/ tropes. Ridiculously fast paced through all the issues (espionage, hacking, family issues, enemies, workplace romance, blackmailing, etc) 80s harlequin romance style writing but made modern.. "Moist Loins" should never be used in writing... so should other cliche writing used in this book. Do yourself a favor and skip.

Uncomfortable

Just listening to this, all I can think of is that this is why sexual harassment is an issue. Shouldn't romanticize it. He basically uses his position to force her. He sounds so sleazy. it's uncomfortable reading/listening. Didn't finish.

Weak Story Line

Typical damsel in distress tale but so weak. Author tries to force romance and sex with a some story line with so many stereotypical storey arcs but timeframe, corny dialogue, and unrealistic events just make it all fall apart. So hard to follow and so many times I wanted quit listening. I still don't know why I continued.. probably will stop soon.

The readers made do with what they could. Great performance but they can't carry the story on their own.

flighty female

Not a bad story, but why make the female (who's supposedly smart and raised with man's education) so flighty at times?? It's the typical "all he'll is breaking loose and she decides that the time to take a stand and not move until she says what's on her mind!"

Kind of a waste for the price.

The main female was a mix of obliviousness and flighiness. Random bits of being a business woman... but more in statements than actual character growth... Took a weird turn towards the end to add conflict/drama/save the girl moment that really didn't do much for the story line other than extend it.

I've read many of her other books, and typically a fan, but the girls seem to be getting more flighty lately!

The main female character is really annoying... just kind if useless, clueless, self absorbed... maybe a stronger character would have made this better.
