I wasn’t sure about the author’s breakup narrative at first, but WOW what a great read. By weaving her personal and professional experiences and perspectives, and also incorporating the stories of her patients and related psychotherapy concepts, this was ultimately very informative and emotionally satisfying.

This book makes a good case for using language learning apps instead of audiobooks. It launches straight into full phrases without helping understand pronunciation and rips through them quickly. In the absence of written support materials or a bit more explanation of pronounciation, it feels like an over abundance of sounds without any foundational understanding. Perhaps those with a more advanced knowledge of the language would be fine, but this is labeled beginner level.
