Historia
Private Detective Cormoran Strike is visiting his family in Cornwall when he is approached by a woman asking for help finding her mother, Margot Bamborough - who went missing in mysterious circumstances in 1974. Strike has never tackled a cold case before, let alone one 40 years old. But despite the slim chance of success, he is intrigued and takes it on; adding to the long list of cases that he and his partner in the agency, Robin Ellacott, are currently working on.

Gruesome mystery writer syndrome
Revisado: 10-19-23
Yes, the writing is excellent, and yes, Robert Glenister brings this story to life in a stunning way, so why the three stars? Did Robert Galbraith have to go into such awful gruesome details about the crimes the serial killer committed? It was pointless and offputting, and did not really contribute to the story.

Poor Dany’s voice
Revisado: 12-02-19
Another great story with great narration but apparently Dany Targaryen has turned into a squeaky leprechaun.

Best comedy on Audible
Revisado: 12-26-17
This ensemble radio program is some of the finest comedy you can find on Audible today. Benedict Cumberbatch’s beautiful voice combined with the comedic timing of his cast mates is a joy to listen to. Every episode of every season is a pleasure, but the final episode of season three, St. Petersburg, is the finest example of what makes this a great program.

Hugo Award-winning author Charles Stross is renowned for his cutting-edge science fiction. This third entry in his “edgy … spoof of Cold War spy thrillers” ( Booklist) finds covert agent Bob Howard learning about a top-secret dossier that vanishes with his boss. Determined to discover the contents of this memorandum, Howard runs afoul of Russian spies, ancient demons, and apostles of a hideous cult planning to raise the Eater of Souls from the undead.

Thoroughly enjoyable
Revisado: 06-24-15
Gideon Emory is a marvelous narrator. His character voices, performed with various British accents, are a pleasure to listen to.
I felt the plot flag a bit here and there, with an occasional plot hole, but overall this is an immensely worthy entry in the laundry series.
