But family disgrace forces her into marriage with the most vile duke in England, and she finds herself desperate for a way out. Couldn't get into it
Revisado: 12-03-24
The female lead was annoying...zero endearing qualities. The story was so boring it was hard to follow because my mind kept drifting elsewhere. I am going to finish it eventually because I can't return it but very disappointed I wasted a credit on this one.

Historia
Nesta Archeron has always been prickly-proud, swift to anger, and slow to forgive. And ever since being forced into the Cauldron and becoming High Fae against her will, she's struggled to find a place for herself within the strange, deadly world she inhabits. Against the sweeping backdrop of a world seared by war and plagued with uncertainty, Nesta and Cassian battle monsters from within and without as they search for acceptance - and healing - in each other's arms.

Well....
Revisado: 09-27-24
I know I'm in the minority but I had a hard time with this series. Every time the story started getting some depth and momentum they would throw in a juvenile twist. What's with all the cussing and talking like teenagers. I get a random F bomb but seriously...can we stop with throwing it in like confetti. Then the emotional intelligence of all the characters...these are supposed to be hundreds or thousands of year old Demi gods basically and they act and speak like 16 year olds kids. Then the sex scenes....is society truly going through withdrawals or are housewives really so desperate for sex or something because they are horribly written! Outlander...hell Bridgerton series did a better job than this. They were so cringy. Overall the story was decent but the random jerks of immaturity really spoil the flow for me.

Historia
When Royal Academy painting student Lucy Coover trips over a naked man passed out in an East End alley, she does the decent thing. She covers him up and fetches help. Trouble is, she can't banish his muscular form from her dreams as easily. Compelled to capture every detail, she creates a stunning portrait but is forced to sell it when the rent comes due. What could be worse than surrendering the very picture of your desire? Meeting the man himself.

Depressing
Revisado: 04-09-24
I love a good historical fiction romance. I took a chance on this book because I love the narrator but this story was absolutely horrible. It was so depressing and vulgar. The love scenes seemed completely tossed in with no rhyme or reason. I can’t believe how many good reviews this book received.

Historia
Lady Vesper Lyndhurst is beautiful, clever, and popular. Afforded every luxury as a duke’s daughter, she fills her days with friends, intrigues, and a self-professed knack for matchmaking. She may have sworn off love for herself, but she is rather excellent at arranging it. Faced with an insolvent estate, the Duke of Greydon has no choice but to return to England in a final attempt to revive his family’s fortunes. He’s been gone for years, happy to have escaped his mother and the petty circles of the ton. To his dismay, not much has changed, including the beautiful heiress next door.

Horrible character
Revisado: 07-05-23
Truly disliked Liberty in the first book. Absolutely despise her in this book but I feel like I have to get through this one for Madison’s story. Why on earth would someone write such a horrible character. She has absolutely nothing redeeming about her. And PAUL!! What a doormat.
