A Good Read and Well Worth The Credit
Revisado: 09-20-23
While listening to this book I ran through a wide range of emotions, i.e., happy, indignant, sad, relieved… The narration was very good. A strong story.

Enjoyable and worth the credit
Revisado: 09-20-23
I enjoyed this book, but was expecting it to be more about Ester's search for her daughter. The perspective of the East vs West Berliner's (is that a real word?) was eye opening.

Almost returned this book. First few chapters just drug on and appeared to be a video game genre that is not usually my favorite. HOWEVER, it turned into a good look listen.

Historia
Elaine is an orphan girl who has grown up in a world where magical ability brings power. Her limited talent was enough to ensure a magical training, but she's very inexperienced and was lucky to get a position working in the Great Library. Now, the Grand Sorcerer - the most powerful magician of them all - is dying, although initially that makes little difference to Elaine; she certainly doesn't have the power to compete for higher status in the Golden City. But all that changes when she triggers a magical trap....

Not impressed
Revisado: 01-29-18
This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?
Unknown
Would you ever listen to anything by Christopher Nuttall again?
Yes I liked the Schooled in Magic serious.
Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Zehra Jane Naqvi?
YES. Listing to Ms Naqvi lisp through the entire book was brutal. I found myself totally zoning out and having to go back to see if I missed anything pertinent. The story could have been very good if it had been better edited and had a different narrator. .
If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from Bookworm?
The portions where the character just dithers without any addition/point to the story. The “oral sex” references/conversations were also not necessary.
