Historia
The Christian life is often defined as "no." What starts with a desire to reject descructive things morphs into a "no" to people, enjoyment, laughter, pleasure, success, and ultimately life itself. Before we know it, we've reduced the Christian faith to a huge rejection of just about everything God has created. Is it any wonder why many in our culture think of Christianity and "no" comes to mind? We need perspective. We need more than just "no." We need to experience a divine "yes" to all of life as a gift from God.

Historia
Scripture is filled with examples of men and women whom God used late in life, often with great impact—Noah, Abraham, Moses, Elizabeth, and Anna, to name a few. They were ordinary men and women who discovered that the latter years of life can be some of the most rewarding and fulfilling. “For them, growing older wasn’t something to be denied or dreaded;” says Billy Graham, “it was to be embraced as part of God’s plan for their lives.” Billy Graham’s life and ministry have been dedicated to the here and now but always with a happy-ever-after in view.

Following the framework of Jesus' earthly life, Fadling shows how the work of "unhurrying" ourselves is central to our spiritual development in such pivotal areas as resisting temptation, caring for others, praying and making disciples. Here is a book that affirms that we are called to work and to do work. Productivity is not a sin - it is the attitudes behind our work that can be our undoing.

Christian faith isn't blind obedience to a set of rules and regulations; it is entering into a relationship with a God who pursues us - not to punish, but to love. As the leader of Central Christian Church in the self-proclaimed "Sin City, U.S.A.", Jud Wilhite has seen it all, and he knows that no matter how far someone has strayed from God, God always remains in passionate pursuit.

You'll be enthralled by this story of a man and his lovable Labrador retriever, Hannah, and what their canine friendship can show us about life, grace, and long walks in the park. Hannah was Dave Burchett's best friend. He couldn't imagine starting a day without her tail wagging an energetic greeting, her body wiggling with sheer gratitude when her food dish was filled, and her unbridled enthusiasm for tennis balls.

Comfort for my Broken Heart!
Revisado: 12-03-21
I have just put to sleep my Jesse who was pure love! My heart is completely broken and the intense loss is indescribable! Jesse was 11yrs old and a few months off his 12th birthday. I was desperate for comfort when I came across this story that gave me hope in the brokenness. Jesse gave me unconditional love and acceptance and was a joy to be around and this author wrote this wonderful book putting it all in a nutshell. I am not well enough to ever have another dog but I will have to rely on God to bring me through! I am totally broken hearted right now and totally lost and empty! I have loved many dogs in my life but nothing like I loved and adored my Jesse! I pray he will be there to meet me when my life is over and I highly recommend this rare gem to anyone wanting comfort but most of all understanding the love and acceptance a dog and how God loves you without conditions. People who have had the privilege of the love of a dog are truly blessed! I needed to listen to this book desperately!!! 🙏🐶🌈 Suzie Morandini

In 1963 America's most famous atheist, Madalyn Murray O'Hair, won the landmark lawsuit filed on behalf of her son, William, that effectively banned prayer in public schools. Bill shares in vivid detail his upbringing - the raging battles, his activity in his mother's atheistic empire, his dependence on drugs, and his years as a fugitive. Nearly two decades after the court's decision, Bill came to the end of his personal strength. In desperation he called out to God, and God answered.

Inspirational! A wake up call
Revisado: 11-27-21
I loved listening to this true story and as a believer in the Lord Jesus Christ I found it devastating to think the author lost his mother, brother and daughter! I would have liked to have heard more about why he didn't do more for his daughter and why he left such a precious little girl with his insane mother over such a long period of time. I would highly recommend this book to everyone I know! Susan Nicholson

Adopted at birth, Marylee's parents told her she was a "chosen child". She tried her hardest to make them proud, but her parents' divorce sent her into the comforting arms of a handsome Catholic boy. She surrendered to passion. Unfortunately, it was 1961. Pregnant girls were sent away, and their babies given up for adoption. If you like truthful accounts laced with the passion of youth and the wisdom of age, listen to Marylee MacDonald's funny and poignant memoir about how we grow up, grow old, and learn to accept ourselves.

This powerful and true story needed to be told!
Revisado: 11-19-21
A true story full of truth! Set in the early 60's how there wasn't much choice but to give up your baby for adoption and how this author struggled to cope with much heartache and regret. She goes onto please her mother as she is shamed. I highly recommend reading or listening to this courageous women's true story and how she continues on and even though she has more children she never stops loving and seeks out to find her eldest son. Love conquerors all! Susan Nicholson
