Cute christmas story with a little spice. Andi Arndt is pretty awesome but Teddy Hamilton though. That guy could make reading the dictionary sound spicy :)

The only negative is that Molly didn't figure out her sister's secret sooner. How? That was annoying.

fmc narrators

The fmc narrators for books 4 and 5 sound more mature than the characters they portray. It's unsettling and annoying. Also books 4 and 5 have isolating plots for the fmcs. If I'd known this going in, I probably would have skipped the audible of this box set and made time to skim the books on Kindle Unlimited before relistening to the Byrne Brothers series.

I enjoyed the plot of book 4 more than 5, but it wasn't what I expected for fun-loving Giada. Books 1-3 set unrealistically high expectations, I guess.

In book 5, Filip is far more serious than he was portrayed in prior books. There aren't many references to the charming flirt we saw before. And he and Camilla almost completely avoid any real communication until at least halfway through the story. Even though they're adults, they act like teenagers throwing tantrums and storming off instead of just stopping to talk throughout the first half of the book.

I haven't even gotten to book 6 yet, but for these reasons, I haven't enjoyed the spice so far, and I'm listening to this set on 2x just to get through it.

Note these opinions do not apply to books 1-3. I thoroughly enjoyed those, which is why I made the mistake of purchasing this set without checking the plots and who was narrating first.

This would be better in duet. The narrators voices don't cross over well. It has me laughing at parts that shouldn't be funny.

If I had time to sit still, I would read on KU instead.

Why aren't all books done in duet? 🤔

I liked the narrator enough to finish, but the reviews that say this book is hot or all about spice make no sense. No spice until around 75% and then it's rushed. If you're here for that, don't waste your time. If your here for a smooth narrator and background noise while you do other things, it's worth listening if you're on a plan that lets you listen for free.

probably won't continue the series. this isn't what i thought it would be. the aliens are pretty much smarter humans with heightened senses.

I read a lot of dark romance. This was not that. The fmc is certifiable, and the book goes into g0ry detail of her literally taking apart people she thinks are bad. I'm good with that to a certain degree and with s0ci0 MCs, but this was ott for me. Even having read the CWs... they don't do the book justice.

No judgement here. If you're into mannequin $3x over and/or with maimed c0rp$e$, you'll probably like this.

Read this as a prequel to haunting adeline bc that came highly recommended to me, but now I'm not so sure I wanna read the main series.

The only thing that would make this series better is having a male and female narrator in duet, but the narrator did a great job with the voices. Couldn't stop listening and finished in 2 days.

This isn't ya or college RH in the traditional sense. Some of the mmcs were turned decades before the book starts but don't age once being turned. This is mentioned but not fully explained, so you can draw your own conclusions.

Interesting take on PNR and a spicy RH. No regrets in using a credit. This will go on the relisten list <3

Love the narrators. Interesting storyline, although it does seem to focus more on fmc navigating her guys more than on the reason for her being in the house.

I saw mixed reviews about some mm stuff heating up. If you're not into it, maybe find another series. imo, it's hot af. What was unexpected for me is who is in the mm pairing, I'm low key surprised. Can't wait to see how the relationship shapes up; hopefully, it's more poly than rh ;)

At this point, I kinda don't care what happens to the friend that's missing lol... I'm here for the spice 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

I preordered and have no regrets. I've loved this series so far, but this is the first one I needed to write a review for. Nikolai and Brandon are everything together. The steam is on point, and Shane East and Teddy Hamilton did an amazing job narrating. I love both their accents and could listen to them read a dictionary. As for the story, I did NOT see that coming. Everyone thinks Brandon is the stable one, but one chapter from his pov shattered that image. I will listen to this one again and again.

If you made it this far, you know Rina Kent is going to keep you on edge. Usually I can predict the why, though, with Bran, I had no idea what was coming. Bran's why felt so realistic and was well-written. **CWs for self harm, SA, and on-page semicolon. The last two are revealed or occur near the last hour or so of listening. It was heartbreaking but made me love these guys even more. And of course they get their hea! I read a review about how Niko treated Bran in light of the SA Bran survived and think its important to note Niko had no idea until near the end, or he mightve handled some things differently. Or maybe not... but I wouldn't change a thing. <3

I have loved all the books so far, and this one is no exception. But wow, this one has some really sad bits. *spoilers* Rux's crackhead mom putting him down and everything that happened after Curtis's mom passed - I legit cried for them both. Rux and Greene are hot af together, and Curtis and Gen's blossoming relationship is so sweet. *end spoilers* If you like mm, some angst, and taking down bad guys, with lots and lots of smexy bits, this series is a must-read/listen. And Aiden Snow's deep bass... I swoon lol
