Just finished my 4th listen and it was just as good as the first time. A must read for historical horror!

DEPRESSING!

I felt like listening to something Inspirational, to help strengthen my spirituality. I was excited to find this book and downloaded it immediately and actually got through 5 hours of it, when I just could t listen any more. It is as all the other reviews say, story after story. At first I identified with some of the signs and related to my own experiences, but then it just got heavy and dark and just about DEATH. Story after story about people of ages dying, and the families grief and the indivials signs they received after the death of thier loved one. But by mid way through, I just couldn’t handle another detailed story about how someone who had died. It was just death after death. I did not feel good as I was listening to this book, which was what I was looking for. I wanted to feel aligned and intune. Nope. this book is dark. I ended up returning it.

Heavy handed political

I had to stop listening half way through. The first half, I was sure every woman should read this book. By midway, it had become so heavy headed political and clear advertisement for a foundation she creates, I had to stop listening. To made it worse, the author is narrating the story, and you can hear the venom in her tone. She clearly has disgust for anyone who does not have her views, she is is very clear.. are the only right views to have. If you don’t have her views, you will feel her distain for you. I really wanted to love this book. It’s unfortunate.

Mess!!

I’m a big KH fan, but this book is just bad. Most of the book is told as a flash back with the characters telling their story. Meanwhile, for chapters, the actual storyline stays frozen, waiting for all the flash back chapters... Not one actually moving the plot forward. Ive been waiting for this book and it had potential but I’m just finding it confusing that this book was published like this. Honestly, if she wanted to tell all that backstory, why didn’t she just start the book there instead of all the flashback with NO dialog.

Deep, heartbreaking story...but

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

This book was hard to listen to, the dark emotion written so well, and the narrators were amazing. But then the graphic sex. I completely expected the characters to go in that direction, but it just went a bit overboard, cheapening the story. Obviously the author was a fan of Fifty Shades..even has the MC reading it in the story. She took what could have been a meaningful story and made it smutty.

When a narrator makes you forget you are listening to a narrator, you know they are good..

You need to listen to this series. If you like Zombies or any end of the world scenarios, this book is one of the best. engaging characters, perfect narration. Brilliant.

I loved Eat, Pray, Love, but

Great world building..unique premise

I was really enjoying the story, but it ended abruptly, i would say, about what should be the middle point of the story. No real climax , or resolution of storylines.
