Unique, interesting story

The writing was so descriptive and lush. It reminded me of poetry, or of a finely crafted fairy tale. Like biting into a ripe plumb on a warm summer afternoon, and the juice running down your chin - this is the best way I can describe the language used in this book. The story was well-paced and I found it to be very intriguing.
The Bridegroom was voiced by an extremely talented narrator. I enjoyed his voice very much, and he really added to the rich, sensuous cadence of the story.

I struggled with this one. I wanted to finish and wanted to like the characters, but I just didn't have it in me. The narration was challenging. I was either bored out of my mind at the monotone reading or frustrated/confused at the mispronunciation of so many common English words. Examples include "hauling" pronounced "howling." The "ed" at the end of words being pronounced, like "breath-ed" instead of "breathed." So many more phrases and words said incorrectly that it distracted from the story.

Got really old, really quick

These characters are a-holes, both of them. I'm all about an enemies to lovers steamy story, but the two main characters in this book both had horrible personalities that I just couldn't get past. I pushed through to about 3/4 of the way and finally gave up. The way they treat each other is absolutely disgusting and I just couldn't take any more.
