I’m in love with this series!
Revisado: 03-31-25
Ruby Landers is a wonderful writer, I don’t think I’ve laughed, cried and felt so much while reading a series of books in so long. The ending of this book truly left me with my mouth hanging open!!!!! I can’t wait for the next one.

So much unnecessary conflict and lack of communication.
Revisado: 12-21-24
Spoiler-ish:
I love both of these writers separately but I struggled with this one. The lack of communication was so unnecessary. The third act conflict caused so much frustration, I was so close to not finishing this book. They’re both fantastic at writing spice but the story line was a bit weak. As a narrator Lula Larkin is good but she isn’t my absolute favorite. She’s not bad but with a frustrating storyline a different narrator could have kept me more interested. I was excited about this book but it was a bit of a disappointment. I wanted so badly to love it.

Sweet Story, Confusing Layout
Revisado: 12-22-22
The store was very sweet but some of the flashback scenes made it seem like I should already know some information that hadn’t been introduced yet. It felt like it was a follow up to another book. The overall story was very sweet and I liked the characters, worth a read. The narrator was great!

Stacey Evans wants only one thing: to be the best alpine ski racer she can be. Everything else—like her sweet and ultra-supportive best friend and hot-but-vapid girlfriend—is just a bonus. Fresh from a medal at her first Olympics, Stacey knows she can only get better and is firmly focused on the future, and totally not thinking about how she’s kind of a little in love with that sweet, ultra-supportive best friend....

Notes Strikes Gold Again
Revisado: 12-13-22
Schuss by E. J. Noyes is NA/YA novel and a follow up to her book Gold. Several characters from Gold make an appearance so if you haven’t read Gold, read it first. You don’t have to but why not, it’s a fantastic book.
This book was sweet and even a bit steamy for a NA/YA novel. I’m a huge fan of E. J. Noyes and have loved all of her books. This one wasn’t a typical Noyes novel, its about 18 year old Gemma and 21 year old Stacy, who were side characters in her previous book, Gold. They’re best friends and both are falling for each other but are afraid that they’ll ruin their amazing friendship if they try to pursue a relationship. It wasn’t exactly what I was expecting but the story works.
I really liked it but maybe wished it took place more than 3 years after Gold. They’re both so young and in very different places in their lives. Stacy just medaled at the Olympics and Gemma is still in High School, getting ready for College. Their conversations and communications are almost too adult but there are plenty of reactions that remind you that they’re both still very young.
I loved seeing the main characters from Gold again and enjoyed seeing an older version of both Stacy and Gemma. I think I read in another review that the reviewer might need another book to complete this series and I have to agree. My vision for the third would be that Gemma goes to college Stacy keeps growing in her Ski career and they break up, I know I’m ruining sweet, youthful, love. Then we get a third book when they’re both older, wiser and ready to settle down. As much I liked this book it didn’t feel like the entire story for all of these characters was finished.
I love E. J.’s books, always one of my favorite writers. Read it for yourself, it might be exactly what you’re looking for!

Historia
Amelia Martini’s favorite things are traveling, animals, and peanut butter. When she left her job to explore the world with her wife, she didn’t expect Tammy’s plans to include leaving her. Now, Amelia is starting over again and facing middle age alone. It’s a struggle, but she doesn’t want to be bitter forever. Thirty-something Kirby Dupree loves life. Not always easy when you’ve lost as much as she has and carry as much sadness as she does. But she made a promise to always look for beauty, so she does her best...even when she has to squint to see it.

Needs some edits
Revisado: 07-02-22
The story was great, sweet and a great ending to the series. My complaint is that there were several pick ups that some didn’t edit out. Multiple starts to one sentence and random edits that seem to cut off the end of words. Just strange.
