Hancock provides a plethora of resources to support his claims, and merely opens the door to alternative way of thinking into ancient civilizations. Very informative, and will move on to read the rest of his work.

Historia
Following in the footsteps of the greatest Spanish adventurers, Michael Wood retraces the path of the conquistadors from Amazonia to Lake Titicaca, and from the deserts of North Mexico to the heights of Machu Picchu. As he travels the same routes as Hernán Cortés, Francisco, and Gonzalo Pizarro, Wood describes the dramatic events that accompanied the epic sixteenth-century Spanish conquest of the Aztec and Inca empires.

I thoroughly enjoyed this account of the Conquistadors. I was a little ignorant of some of the other Spaniards besides Cortez, but Michael Woods was able to vividly paint the picture of their personality, and the influence it had on their way of conquering. All the sad details of destruction and anguish are also present, giving a clear picture of what the Natives experienced.

Simon Baker charts the rise and fall of the world's first superpower, focusing on six momentous turning points that shaped Roman history. Welcome to Rome as you've never seen it before - awesome and splendid, gritty and squalid. Easy to follow, and in a linear storyline provides you with the beginning and end of the Roman Republic. I learned a lot by the end of the book

Historia
It's 2526. It has been almost a year since humanity engaged in its destructive first contact with a theocratic military alliance of alien races known as the Covenant. Now, the hostilities have led to open war, and the United Nations Space Command understands virtually nothing about its new enemy. The UNSC’s only hope lies with the Spartans: enhanced super-soldiers trained from childhood via a clandestine black-ops project to be living weapons. But not everyone wants the Spartans to succeed.

Throwback
Revisado: 09-22-21
Very reminiscent of the older Halo books by Nylund. My only issue was that I had hoped some of the other Spartans had their time to shine like in previous books, but I believe this was more focused on John and his growth as the Master Chief. If you’re a fan of the first books in the series you’ll feel familiar with this one

Ryland Grace is the sole survivor on a desperate, last-chance mission - and if he fails, humanity and the Earth itself will perish. Except that right now, he doesn't know that. He can't even remember his own name, let alone the nature of his assignment or how to complete it. All he knows is that he's been asleep for a very, very long time. And he's just been awakened to find himself millions of miles from home, with nothing but two corpses for company.

Historia
Vril, the Power of the Coming Race (1870) by Edward Bulwer-Lytton is an early science fiction novel. The setting is a strange subterranean world inhabited by beautiful entities that resemble the angels described in scripture. The advanced beings known as Vril-ya live underground - using the mysterious "Vril" as an energy source - but intend to reclaim the surface of the earth as their own. The narrator ends up deep inside the Earth via a natural chasm in a mine shaft.

Interesting story about the origins of the Thule society’s belief. Narration is well done, and although it’s a work of fiction it’s easy to see why the Vril society of Germany strongly believed in it.

Seldom does a book have the impact of Michelle Alexander’s The New Jim Crow. Since it was first published in 2010, it has been cited in judicial decisions and has been adopted in campus-wide and community-wide reads; it helped inspire the creation of the Marshall Project and the new $100 million Art for Justice Fund; it has been the winner of numerous prizes, including the prestigious NAACP Image Award; and it has spent nearly 250 weeks on the New York Times best seller list.

Very informative book. Many of the contents here I was familiar with, but the author provides clear examples and supportive arguments to further explain her thesis and help the reader digest all the new information. I encourage anyone who wants to further Their knowledge of the caste system currently in place today to read this book.
