Fantastic characters and laugh out loud banter

This may be my new favorite book. I just ordered the series. I was unsure at first about it being in the third person. I tend to prefer romance and romcoms in first person. But this was intimate and heartfelt and hysterical. I laughed so hard listening to the audiobook while walking the dogs, I had to pretend I was on the phone every time I passed another walker 😆. It’s a slow burn and so so worth it.

Laura Piper Lee captured the angst, paranoia and unconditional love of being a new mom and made it both endearing and funny. I love how she brings to life such a rich cast of characters. I want to hang out with all of them 😊

Love the idea but didn’t love the protagonist

I really enjoyed the last quarter of the book but most of the time I found the protagonist too selfish to be likable or relatable. And the banter between the siblings was stilted, which kept taking me out of the magic of the book. But I really liked the premise and actually really liked all the characters other than the protagonist.

I absolutely loved this. We all know Julia Whelan is there GOAT when it comes to performing audiobooks but who knew she was such a great writer?? I laughed out loud but also really enjoyed the storyline. Her characters are witty and lovable. I am ready to listen again! Thanks Julia!
