Love Ali McNamara books
Revisado: 03-07-19
The author’s characters have such fabulous personalities! Her plots are interesting and definitely keep you guessing. The narrator is also wonderful but when a character is a well known real person from another country, the accent is so important. Maybe the character could be quoted instead of talking. I still love the author and the narrator but as an American, it was painful for those few minutes. But all in all, I LOVED it and eagerly await any new books by Ali and read by Finty.

I really enjoyed this book and the way it was read. The characters were interesting as was the story. I liked the changes that occurred in the characters as the story progressed.

Wonderfully different, especially for a Beatles’ fan
Revisado: 09-16-18
This book was unusual as it dealt with traveling through time on a voyage of self discovery. It went through many decades. I thoroughly enjoyed it although I at first was concerned about how the author would handle it. She did a fabulous job!

Great story with strong characters
Revisado: 10-15-17
This story made you feel that you knew each of the women personally. The twists and turns their lives went though made the story interesting. My only complaint was that the ending was wrapped up in just a few minutes when it could have provided the reader with a much more developed ending. A true chapter apiece might have been great finish. I would love to know how each of them got to the places they were in the last scene.

A great story
Revisado: 02-20-17
I love the characters in this series and they truly come to life when this narrator reads them. I love the interplay between the characters and the believable way they treat each other. The story is a bit darker this time, but the situations and the conflicts are well written and interesting. I found myself hating the times I had to turn the story off. I find Callahan to be a woman of her times-independent but sometimes wishing for a help mate, a good friend to many although she does not sugar coat everything, a dreamer, and a professional business woman.she respects others, but she trusts her gut feelings, something that has kept me alive in some challenging situations. She find the support she needs to prove she is right in most cases and is sad when she is not. This is a great read!

Wonderful friendship
Revisado: 01-25-17
The detail provided on each page made this story easy to picture. I felt as if I were there in the village with the characters. This story was about a young woman and a woman in the sunset years. It helped me to understand my elderly mother's life, her present day trials, and the tribulations as she grows older. It was beautifully written with loving care given to each of the main characters. The only distraction I found was the American accents. Affluent people in the U.S. do not speak as the reader portrayed them and not all of them would have New York accents (even if they come from New York.) Since I am an American, it did bother me but every other word was said by the narrator as I think the author would wish, so I would not want a narrator change. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and will look for others by this author and narrator.

Great story - more than a typical romance
Revisado: 06-18-15
Although this is labeled a romance, it is about many characters's lives and the trials and the friendships in life. Ms. Johnson's characters come to life. I thoroughly enjoyed this whole book.
