Historia
"Wendy Darling, I have your brothers. You'll never see them again. They're in Neverland now." Isobel "Bel" Emerson finds her life disrupted once again when Eamon Stone receives a disturbing phone call from an old friend's daughter. Her family is in danger, but she can't call the police. Eamon is the only person she can turn to, and he agrees to help under one condition: Bel comes with him. Working undercover with only Eamon for backup, Bel arrives at Wendy Darling's expansive estate where she learns that both of Wendy's younger brothers have been kidnapped.

This whole series is a delight
Revisado: 04-30-25
These books are an absolute delight. Despite the macabre nature of the crimes, I would classify these as cozy mysteries (think T. Kingfisher, Nettle & Bone) with a backbone of fade to black romance, he falls first, enemies to lovers (think Lauren Roberts, Powerless).

Historia
Over the course of a 30-year career, Eddie Izzard has proven himself to be a creative chameleon, inhabiting the stage and film and television screens with an unbelievable fervor. Born in Yemen and raised in Ireland, Wales, and postwar England, he lost his mother at the age of six. In his teens he dropped out of university and took to the streets of London as part of a two-man escape act; when his partner went on vacation, Izzard kept busy by inventing a one-man act, and thus a career was ignited.

Historia
Since his return from war, the Duke of Ashbury's to-do list has been short and anything but sweet: brooding, glowering, menacing London ne'er-do-wells by night. Now there's a new item on the list. He needs an heir - which means he needs a wife. When Emma Gladstone, a vicar's daughter turned seamstress, appears in his library wearing a wedding gown, he decides on the spot that she'll do.

Phenomenal
Revisado: 08-24-17
Loved every minute! The initial cadence of the narrator is fast paced, but your ears will quickly adapt to the rapid fire banter between the hero & heroine.
This story is phenomenal and tracks 2 reasonable if anachronistic characters as they struggle to make a life together. Where so many romances are balancing act of two people taking turns being irrational, every action here seems relatable. But what makes this story great is that the whole thing is an homage to language. Between the "unicorn vomit" "pelt of a snow beast rumored to menace the Himalayas, " and the Shakespearean creative cursing - I could not stop laughing. BEST BOOK I HAVE READ ALL YEAR.
