Historia
Most books about the history of humanity pursue either a historical or a biological approach, but Dr. Yuval Noah Harari breaks the mold with this highly original book. From examining the role evolving humans have played in the global ecosystem to charting the rise of empires, Sapiens integrates history and science to reconsider accepted narratives, connect past developments with contemporary concerns, and examine specific events within the context of larger ideas.

Wow
Revisado: 02-08-23
Narration is both sarcastic, neutral, and ominous. It deserves an A.
Story is incredible and reflective. It gave me answers to questions I didn’t know I had and revealed it’s own importance several times over. Remarkable, A+.

Historia
Charlie Reade looks like a regular high school kid, great at baseball and football, a decent student. But he carries a heavy load. His mom was killed in a horrific accident when he was seven, and grief drove his dad to drink. Charlie learned how to take care of himself—and his dad. When Charlie is seventeen, he meets a dog named Radar and her aging master, Howard Bowditch, a recluse in a big house at the top of a big hill, with a locked shed in the backyard. Sometimes strange sounds emerge from that shed.

A little forced during the middle
Revisado: 11-05-22
The book drags on during the main part. A lot of set up gets only a little payoff. The book prides itself on being a fairy tale, but I’ve never heard of a fairy tale where the protagonist goes to other dimensions and fights otherworldly beasts. The contradiction is distracting, but not a big deal.

Lighthearted, thoughtful, and narrated incredibly
Revisado: 07-16-22
The narration is incredible. Sleep really brings the characters to life and the sound effects are on point.
I like following along with a series like this. The style clearly changes naturally as the story assembles itself.
Mordred is one of my favorite villains of all time, he is hatable and scary. He is a very believable and relatable person. He taps into emotions that no other villain has ever done for me, and for that, I respect this series.

Historia
Sixteenth-century Spanish gentleman Don Quixote, fed by his own delusional fantasies, takes to the road in search of chivalrous adventures. But his quest leads to more trouble than triumph. At once humorous, romantic, and sad, Don Quixote is a literary landmark. This fresh edition, by award-winning translator Edith Grossman, brings the tale to life as never before.

Narrator is clever
Revisado: 04-27-22
Usually narrators are afraid to use much inflection in their voice. In this recording the narrator is sarcastic, loud, sly, and even more not mentioned. His accents and funny voices are, in no small part, quite pleasurable.
