I definitely like how he doesn’t seek to condemn that those who do this may have very genuine and heartfelt intentions in using these pragmatic means. He seems to get his point across firmly, but with a gentleness that’s appreciated as he asks the reader to question themselves, not to look at his words as a finger wagging. It’s nice. A refreshing look at the regulative principle of worship. And I appreciate his encouragement for faithfulness to God’s Word in our worship.

Very eye opening, yet fair look at liberalism creeping in in recent years especially within evangelical Protestant communities.

This book couldn’t have come at the more perfect time to read. The remedies are timely as though they were written by a pastor in the current era for congregants weary from battling sins of today. A testament to the timeless Truth of the Word of God in the Holy Scriptures which is the same yesterday, today, and forever.

There were definitely some helpful tips on keeping peace. But the use of heretical teachers to quote as though they are a source of truth, even if the quote was appropriate in itself, one should be cautious to use them as an authoritative or trusted source.

The reminder of the truth of our great sin that is completely covered, if we be in Christ, by such a great Savior by grace through faith alone. Who will not crush us in our weaknesses, but supplies all necessary for salvation, and the will to do what pleases Him, because He is the Author and Finisher of our faith. This is a great comfort for those young in the faith, and those mature who still wrestle with the remaining stain of sin in our flesh. His grace and mercy is enough. Rest in it.

Voddie does a great job laying out the biblical family, and leading it, which carries into and from the Church at large.

Listened through in a day, but own the hard copy and am looking forward to walking through this for fifty days to keep a plan on renewing my mind daily against learned and practiced sinful practices.

This book was so edifying to me. There were many times I had to stop reading just so that I could pray, and truly repent brought to true tears of repentance over my sin. I can’t recommend this book enough to all Christians no matter where they are in their walk, but especially to those who are mature and their walk, and in their knowledge and love for the Lord. I burned through almost a full highlighter reading this book, while listening, and many many tears, I think the Lord for this book and for the Holy Spirit work in my heart, as I read it words.

TLDR: a great read for both the believer and unbeliever.

I think that Alisa Childers handles the topic of deconstruction well, but I think even more so dealt with questions we all should ask and be able to answer as Christians to better be able to defend the faith as we are called to. As a Christian I appreciated the apologetics, but for the unbelieving, or even skeptic, I believe this answers the relevant questions surrounding the faith that most people hear and repeat from a place of no real understanding.

This is a critical read in today’s society, not only for the Christian, but for all who felt strongly one way or another about the George Floyd Riots of the summer of 2020. This walks out with a keen sensibility and sensitivity, while also pressing into the hard truth of the situation. God was glorified, and the book was exceptionally enlightening.
