Historia
Golden Globe-winning actor Michael C. Hall (Six Feet Under) performs Truman Capote's masterstroke about a young writer's charmed fascination with his unorthodox neighbor, the "American geisha" Holly Golightly. Holly - a World War II-era society girl in her late teens - survives via socialization, attending parties and restaurants with men from the wealthy upper class who also provide her with money and expensive gifts. Over the course of the novella, the seemingly shallow Holly slowly opens up to the curious protagonist.

A true Classic

I loved this book. I really enjoyed listening to it while thinking about the Holly Golightlys in my past.

Pulpy Bloody Neighborhood
Revisado: 12-09-22
This book is pulpy. A hard boiled detective novel set in the Boston area about 3 friends with a past that won’t stay there. I like seeing how the characters changed yet not so much from when they were children and the bittersweet ending.

Beautifully Traumatic
Revisado: 12-09-22
Loved this story. A beautifully traumatic and unrelenting tale about forgiveness. This recording is dated. Someone should update. Possibly Mark Ruffalo who starred in the series adaptation… just a suggestion.

Historia
Nanao, nicknamed Ladybug - the self-proclaimed “unluckiest assassin in the world” - boards a bullet train from Tokyo to Morioka with one simple task: Grab a suitcase and get off at the next stop. Unbeknownst to him, the deadly duo Tangerine and Lemon are also after the very same suitcase - and they are not the only dangerous passengers onboard. Satoshi, “the Prince”, with the looks of an innocent schoolboy and the mind of a viciously cunning psychopath, is also in the mix and has history with some of the others.

Love for trains…
Revisado: 11-30-22
This book was very entertaining and also read like a love letter to locomotive. Great pulpy fun. The multiple storylines gave me a little fatigue after a while but fun nonetheless. Don’t be a Diesel.

Historia
High School is the revelatory and unique coming-of-age story of Sara and Tegan Quin, identical twins from Calgary, Alberta, who grew up at the height of grunge and rave culture in the '90s, well before they became the celebrated musicians and global LGBTQ icons we know today. While grappling with their identity and sexuality, often alone, they also faced academic meltdown, their parents’ divorce, and the looming pressure of what might come after high school. This is the origin story of Tegan and Sara.

Twin Tale and Demo too
Revisado: 11-30-22
I’m already a Tegan and Sara fan so this was reader typecasting. Listen to podcast interviews and such, however hearing their separate points of view of their teenage years was so interesting and well constructed. It made for easy listening and was easy to follow as a result. Love the cuts of demos laced through out the book and the interview at the end was great too. Great work Quins!

Historia
My name is Betty. I have depression. I have passion. I have tits the size of printers. And also: I have a brain full of women. There’s Blanche VonF--kery, Ingrid St. Rash, and a host of others—some cowering in sweatpants, some howling plans for revolution, and one, oh God, and one . . . slowly vomiting up a crow? Worried for her. These women take turns at the wheel. That’s why I feel like a million selves. With a raised eyebrow and a soul-scalpel, I’d like to tell you how I got this way. Because maybe you feel this way too.

Beautifully Neurotic
Revisado: 11-30-22
Highly recommend this book. Look into the mind of someone you think has it all figure out and find out they (just like you maybe) absolutely does not. Betty Gilpin is another person navigating through life with trial and error while also trying to be a star. Love her work on screen and loved this book. 4/5 because it ain’t perfect but it’s kind of beautiful because it isn’t. Gilpin needed to he the narrator, performed awesomely.
