Wow!
Revisado: 11-13-24
So, I'll start by saying this isn't the usual kind of book I read. But I'm glad I did! It was a great story with interesting characters that you get to grow with throughout the entire thing. There are definitely some darker aspects of the story, but not so much that it'll bring your mood down for the entire day. I actually listened to the audible version, and Amelia Hugh was phenomenal, bringing the characters to life. I was so fascinated with the story that I ended up finishing it within the week! If you like mystery, romance, and some interesting takes on the paranormal, you should absolutely read or listen to this book!

Really interesting story
Revisado: 11-13-24
This is a great fantasy series that checks a lot of the boxes for those who love the genre. The story draws you in very quickly and keeps you on the line until the very end. There are twists and turns that not even I was able to see coming. The audiobook is narrated perfectly and really brings the characters to life!

Good fantasy series, great narration
Revisado: 11-13-24
It's a really good fantasy story with all the elements to become a great series. The one drawback I found was the pacing, which was a bit off for my taste. But that is my personal preference and should be taken as such. If you want a good fantasy series that twists some classic themes, check it out for sure! Also, the narrator does an amazing job bringing the story to life!

Great narration and interesting story telling
Revisado: 07-26-24
this book is told a bit differently than others in that it is a Non-Linear timeline. it's a story that requires you to pay attention to the details to catch on to see how things connect later in the book. The narrator did an amazing job bringing this story to life as well!

Good zombie-style story with room to grow
Revisado: 07-02-24
Read this book for a book club recently. Not one I would have read on my own, so I'm glad to have something to help me find new stuff to read. The premise of this book is decent, if not standard at this point. Think about if 28 Days Later was mixed with Resident Evil with a bit of The Day After Tomorrow sprinkled in for... reasons? Don't be intimidated by the amount of Chapters. Each is only a couple of pages/few minutes long.
The narrator, Amelia Hugh, did AMAZING keeping the story going for me. Not sure if it was one I would've finished on my own if it wasn't for her performance.
Overall, it's an alright read if you like standard Zombie-apocalypse style books with a couple of surprises here and there.

Historia
For decades we've been told that positive thinking is the key to a happy, rich life. "F*ck positivity," Mark Manson says. "Let's be honest, shit is f*cked, and we have to live with it." In his wildly popular Internet blog, Manson doesn't sugarcoat or equivocate. He tells it like it is - a dose of raw, refreshing, honest truth that is sorely lacking today. The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck is his antidote to the coddling, let's-all-feel-good mind-set that has infected modern society and spoiled a generation, rewarding them with gold medals just for showing up.

Interesting
Revisado: 01-06-19
I'll admit I was pretty confused for a lot of this book. It kind of just drops you in and hits the ground running with basically no explanation of anything. But towards the end pieces start falling into place. Only one of the MCs is actually reliable at this point. The others are kind of shallow and actually more annoying than interesting. But seeing as this is a series, I hold hope for the future. I will say this though, it if all the books I've read throughout my life, this author has done some of the absolute BEST world building. Seriously. I'm so impressed with her attention to details and the intricacies of the world and politics and customs and etc.

Words fail me
Revisado: 01-06-19
Trying to come up with my review has been so hard. This book in the series was by far the best to date. I can't even begin to describe how amazing it was. New game dynamics, revelations made, the past coming back to haunt, good old fashioned dungeon diving, new friends, hated enemies, and by far the funniest chapter ever written in any book I've read to date. I literally cried I was laughing so hard. And then I cried for a whole other reason later on in the book. I seriously think this is on a whole new level and I'm in awe

A dark but amazing chapter for the series
Revisado: 01-06-19
By far, one of the darkest, most gruesome of the series as of yet. But that is not a bad thing at all! There is so much going on, yet the author still manages to keep your attention throughout the entire book. And despite how dark it gets, there is always light at the end. Action scenes were extremely well written. Dr. Kong didn't down play the gravity of anything and let those emotions drag you in.
