Historia
“I’m sorry but the answer’s no.” Reluctant author, Anthony Horowitz, has had enough. He tells ex-detective Daniel Hawthorne that after three books he’s splitting and their deal is over. The truth is that Anthony has other things on his mind. His new play, a thriller called Mindgame, is about to open at the Vaudeville Theater in London’s West End. Not surprisingly, Hawthorne declines a ticket to the opening night. The play is panned by the critics. In particular, Sunday Times critic Margaret Throsby gives it a savage review, focusing particularly on the writing.

Historia
Actor Kelsey Grammer, best known for his roles in the TV sitcoms Cheers and Frasier, delivers Bitter Brew, a compelling mystery featuring Detective Bill Walsh, an upstate cop in the quiet, rural town of Beatriceville, 200 miles north of New York City, who suspects foul play in the death of millionaire city transplant Jonathan Kimball, even though the evidence points to suicide, not murder.

Surprisingly Short
Revisado: 01-21-17
Is there anything you would change about this book?
I would have liked there to me more to it. It's my own fault to have spent a credit on such a short book. I felt like I was just getting into it when it ended.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Endangered Species?
Most memorable was the suspenseful ending. I have listened to several of Navada Barr's books. I enjoy the National Park settings.
Would you be willing to try another one of Cindy Williams’s performances?
I certainly won't seek her out. The narrator sounded like she had an important appointment and couldn't wait to finish reading the script. She was absolutely breathless throughout.

Historia
Anna has been assigned a three-week posting on Georgia's isolated Cumberland Island. Despite the breathtaking natural setting, Anna finds time weighing heavily as she works tedious fire pre-suppression duty. Her boring routine is shattered when a sudden plane crash in the inland palmetto thickets calls her and the other members of the fire crew to action. When Anna and the crew investigate, they discover the plane was sabotaged. Suspicions smolder over the accident which killed both the pilot and his passenger, Cumberland's lone law enforcement ranger.

Generations of Family Intrigue
Revisado: 02-04-13
This book is a story of class, status, and family rivalries in late 19th Century England. The intrigue of a secret the boys from a boarding school share all their lives runs throughout. It was a real "page turner". Well done. The narrator was easy to understand and did a fairly good job of creating different voices for the characters. I would choose this narrator again.

Entertaining
Revisado: 06-11-12
Janet Evanovich is up to her usual standards of intrigue and hilarity. This is my first listen to Charlotte Hughes. I'll select this pair again when I need a light and fun listen. I do love Lorelei King's narration. I'd listen to her read the phone book if it were available. She has a real talent in making the characters come to life!

At the Manhattan knitting store founded by Georgia Walker, the members of the Friday Night Knitting Club - including Georgia’s college-age daughter, Dakota - rely on each other for help, even as they struggle with new challenges. As the club’s projects - an afghan, baby booties, a wedding coat - are pieced together, so is their understanding of the patterns underlying the stresses and joys of being a mother, wife, daughter, and friend.

A poorly used credit
Revisado: 09-03-11
I read the first book about the Friday Night Knitting Club and looked forward to hearing the sequel while I did my knitting. It was trite and predictable. My credit could have been better used. The narrator did a good job with the material, however.
