Historia
Now, the story picks up months after the end of The Undead Detective Agency, and my crew is dealing with the aftermath of...well, you know what. So, of course, I, the loving, amazing boss that I am, decided that it was time for a vacation—a fun duck-related vacation. And after hinting at resorting to possible friendnapping, I got my way!

duck-themed chaos
Revisado: 04-21-25
New adventures for the Undead Detective Agency characters. They’re back with ridiculous duck-themed shenanigans. Murders abound by the very incompetent baddie. I appreciate that we get a look back into the lives of Octavius and Min-ji to fill in the histories and understand both better. Lance West audio performance is fabulous, adding depth to the experience. I can’t imagine reading these in an ebook now, and I highly recommend the audio experience.

Nick J Russo's voice for Diem is perfection. Diem is learning how to deal with his emotions and it just bleeds through the voice acting. And even though I want to wring Tallus's neck a few times, one chapter in particular, he's so good for Diem. They're relationships develops significantly in this book. Can't wait for the next one.

Historia
Someone once said, when life gets you down and you’re feeling blue, brush yourself off and go to Paris! Okay, maybe that was me. Hey, I don’t regret taking an oddball assignment to assist a British professor abroad. I could use a break from my life as an aspiring hair and style guru in LA. The only worrisome snag is that the professor is determined to do everything on his own. Not acceptable. I’m here to help the impossibly smart geek with mismatched socks who just happens to be my best friend’s boss.

Revisado: 12-15-24
Winnie was so lovely and fabulous. He stepped in to help the absent minded professor at the Paris conference and found himself drawn to Alistair. And Alistair was absolutely enamored with Winnie's vibrancy. They brought out the best in each other. Joel Leslie was the perfect narrator for these characters. His accents and performance were just perfect.

I’ve made some stupid decisions in my life, and one in particular keeps coming back to haunt me. When I keep running into a handsome stranger, I know I should push him away, if only to keep him safe from my mess, keep him safe from me. But something inside of me—my heart, my magic, or my soul—keeps pushing me toward him, offering to make all my secret dreams come true. And I don’t know how to stay away.

Historia
War-weary mercenary Leoric has traded his sword for a shovel, burying the undead blight that plagues the little town of Barrowdeep. Now he fights for the living instead of against them. Fae trickster Orphium travels from town to town, stealing human trinkets and memories through games of chance. He's desperate to fill the hollow in his heart, but the hunger never goes away. Barrowdeep is ripe for the picking, except the nosy local gravedigger keeps interfering. But when Leoric unearths an ancient fae artifact, Orphium knows he’ll stop at nothing to possess the powerful coin.

Historia
The very last thing U.S. Marshal Eoghan Sapphire wants is a new partnership. Worse yet, the transfer from Lexington, Kentucky is a civilian. That means it’ll be Eoghan’s responsibility to break him into the I.S.R. and the unique way their particular U.S. Marshals Service unit operates. He decides being a jerk to him and keeping him at arm’s length just might be the way to handle things…until he meets him.

paranormal law enforcement fun
Revisado: 04-15-24
My first read by this author. I understand it's a spinoff but I never felt like I was missing any back story and reads very well on its own. Tooth and Nail checks many boxes for me- shifters, law enforcement, falling for your partner. The many different shifters and aliens were fascinating to read. Ari and Eoghan have chemistry and work well together. I'm looking forward to containing their story in book 2.
My minor quibble is that Ari was dumped into the deep end of the ocean into his first day on the job with no training or knowledge of the paranormal and expected to have no reactions or questions, simply do as he was told. That felt unrealistic and unfair to him.
The audio was primarily performed by Kevin Earlywine, with chapters near the end by Declan Rhodes. Both did a great job with the story.

Problem: I don’t know what to do with myself. Helping out at the rink might be my ticket out of here, but nothing is happening fast enough. And then there’s Ivan. No, no, it’s not what you think. We went to school together. We’re acquaintance-friends…nothing more. But you know, I like him. A lot. He’s funny and relentlessly upbeat. I’m a better person when I’m with him—the kind who volunteers to deck the halls and wrap garland on lampposts and—Whoa.

sweet holiday romp
Revisado: 02-23-24
This was a sweet holiday romp with a little grumpy/sunshine action going on. Not quite a second chance story as the MCs weren’t together before, but they did know each other in high school and reconnected when Court came home after being cut from the team. I’ve not read the other books in the series so I can’t say how this fits into the overall series, but I found it fun and enjoyable. The author tends to write low-angst fun stories. Nick J Russo is a stellar performer and nailed this, as expected.

Historia
Phoenix was becoming a pressure cooker nearing bursting open, as the sequestered group of savant scientists and soldiers in the glass-domed pods in Antarctica were buzzing with sexual tension. Brad McCormick figured since the limbic system associated with sexual desire is linked to libido and the part of the brain responsible for higher-level functions, like planning and thinking, he had a problem he couldn’t solve without his leadership team. To put it more explicitly, the men were extremely sexually eager.

thought provoking
Revisado: 01-24-24
Both the author and narrator are new-to-me. I found the narrator Jonathan Waters very engaging, the voices and characters were well done and easily distinguishable. It was a great performance and I’ll definitely seek out his other works.
The story is post-apocalyptic sci-fi spec-fic, not a genre or style I usually read but I was excited to give it a try. The book follows many characters as this station of 100% men attempts to begin again after the Doomsday events. The stories are very dramatic and remind me of a soap opera in its extremes – character traits, reactions, events, etc. It’s thought-provoking as it makes one wonder how we would react in a similar situation of creating a new world order. I had a bit of confusion with the time travel parts. I believe it's a me issue and that I'd follow the dates/timelines better in ebook format.

Historia
It’s always been a thing, the gag joke gift Pontus Andreassen’s so-called friends present him with for Valentine’s Day. Not that people care much about Valentine’s Day in Denmark these days, and anyway, all of them are now grown up and sensible and mature and… adult. Pontus hates that word. He hates it almost as much as he hates going out and meeting other human beings and engaging in socialising, conversation and mutual masturbation. Until the day he gets gifted a cleaner, and his quiet Friday turns into the Valentine’s date from hell.

someone for everyone
Revisado: 01-02-24
A great story that shows there’s someone for everyone. Both blokes are kind of a hot mess, but they complement each other. Pontus, bless his emotionally stunted heart. He’s struggling to adult and ask for help or friendship when he desperately needs it. And Louis is living with his parents as they all live a naturalist (nudist) lifestyle. There are very funny moments and meddling friends and family.
The narrator Ray Calleja is new-to-me but I’ll definitely be looking for more. My googlefu tells me he’s an actor, writer and producer in addition to his audiobooks voice productions. His performance was well done. There were a few very minor engineering/production things that were noticeable but not huge issues.
