I'm next in line to be the alpha of my pack, but my father doesn't think I'm ready. In his eyes, I'll never be—he wants me to grow up, straighten up, to be someone I'm just... not. At least I've got the security squad in the meantime, and I'm taking on more responsibility by working with the squad's IT unit. I assumed working with a bunch of computer geeks would be boring as hell, but the new girl on the unit has me intrigued. I'm used to getting any girl I want, yet she's rebuffed all of my advances.

Joanna "Jonsie" Hunter is a little rough around the edges. Outspoken and strong willed with a streak of defiance, she can give most guys a run for their money. She also happens to be Queen City Royalty. With the territories surrounding the city divided between two rival gangs, she lives a life of wealth and privilege afforded not only by her social standing, but also her brother, Nicky - the leader of the Queen City Dukes.

I've got a lot on my plate. Not only do I have my own pack to protect, but I keep the whole six-pack territory secure by training and running the security squad. The new recruits are here for the summer, and it's my job to whip them into shape. I can't afford any distractions, but one of the female recruits is doing just that- distracting me. Fallon is the most frustrating girl I've ever met; she's all alpha female and she openly challenges my authority. She's so far from my type, but for some reason, I'm drawn to her.
