Justice— the Silent Justices Series
Revisado: 11-07-23
I love this series—so engaging! No trash. It’s very well researched, true to it’s purpose…even the Spanish is good. The voice and presentation by A. T. Chandler pulls the listener in. I honestly didn’t want to put it down and I’ve listened to the series twice straight through. Enjoy your “read!” Mr. Deacon, when is the next book coming out?

Smoky the Cowhorse is one of the most famous and beloved horse stories told. Will James writes in 1920s cowboy vernacular and tells the life of the horse Smoky in the Western United States from his birth to eventual return to his home range. Smoky is born in the wild, captured, and trained by Clint and becomes known as the best cow horse. Then a horse thief steals Smoky and beats him repeatedly. Smoky eventually attacks and escapes from the abusive thief.

Smokey the Cowhorse: 10 for story, 1 for performance
Revisado: 06-25-23
Smokey the Cowhorse is an award-winning book that is a classic, beloved novel of the love between a man and horse and later with the trials that Smokey endures after being stolen. It deserves an award-winning cowboy storyteller who knows and understands the life and culture of old cowboys, cow horses, the range, our language and values in order to perform this tale so that the listener feels the pull on his or her heartstrings. It is easily seen by the “reader” that while this narrator does a fair job of phonetically reading the words, that he understands nothing, does not evoke any deep feelings, mispronounces and doesn’t understand many words. Listen because of the story but pray that Brookstone Publishers finds the right performer and re-records Smokey. I’ve read this book countless times over the years and it always brings tears to my eyes— some happy, some sad, some wanting to treat his abusers with the same that they dish out. One of my favorite books.

Beautiful, tremendous story
Revisado: 06-01-23
I was not expecting such a complete, detailed book but it does a marvelous job of representing both the Comanche and white sides of the historical threads of the conflict.
The ending leads the reader to want to pick up the next volume immediately.
The narrator should be commended for her presentation, voice and diction. Very, very well done!

Tremendous series!
Revisado: 05-24-23
I can only wish that there were at least 3 more books in this series. The story development over the three books leaves the reader longing to find out “what happens next?” There’s so much more to come.
Although Mrs. Gray should have had a story editor to catch the changing details, the stories draw you in and carry the reader effortlessly.
The narrator, Mia Gaskin, made these stories come alive. Excellent work as well. Please write the sequels!

This is an excellent romance novel; well planned and written.
But no story reaches the excellent range unless it is performed/ narrated well. There are several excellent narrators; however, Antony Ferguson is in a class by himself, far-exceeding the reach of others! Not only does his masculine voice add to the telling, but his expertise in understanding and acting out the parts increase the interest and the reader/listener participation. Very well done! Thank you.

A Texan’s Promise. Book 1 of Heart of a Hero series
Revisado: 03-09-22
Excellent book. So completely refreshing to find a romance novel that is more like people actually lived in the late 1800 s. People who had faith in the Bible and learned to live by its teachings and how to live, care for and forgive each other when the time was right. There’s more than enough hard times and problems to keep the plot moving throughout the book. But most of all, it isn’t a continuous description of sexual encounters. Loved it. I will be reading the series.

Amazing book about amazing men
Revisado: 02-13-22
I loved the detailed stories about the US Navy SOG Seals. It was so heartening to listen about men of such great, patriotic, God-loving men who gave so much of themselves for their fellow warriors during the Vietnam War. The presentation was awesome. Our grandson is going into the army right after high school graduation in May. This book has now become required reading for him! Every young warrior needs men of honor and courage, strength and commitment to emulate. God bless you all!!!

No Ordinary Dog by Will Chesney
Revisado: 12-13-21
This is an outstanding book! The first 7 chapters should be required reading for all persons contemplating military service. Will’s description of the various scenarios in No Ordinary Dog are reflective of careful consideration of each situation and of what he can and cannot say. Thank you, Will. The love and respect between man and dog is undeniable. Cairo’s death is heartbreaking but not unexpected. The closeness of his family at the end is the epitome of love. We all should be so fortunate. P. S. Will: I hope that you have given a photograph of Cairo to the memorial in New York. Nothing else is needed at this time. What the future holds is certainly a future decision, but should not be rushed. God bless all!
