Historia
Human sacrifice still goes on uncomfortably close to home - cases have been found in the U.S., Europe, and the United Kingdom. In other parts of the world, such as South America, ritual killing is almost commonplace. Human Sacrifice investigates the terrifying current spate of human sacrifices and ritual killings. Jimmy Lee Shreeve draws on police reports and interviews with the victims' families to paint a horrifying picture of ritual sacrifice at home and abroad.

Historia
The Democratic Party has changed beyond recognition. Once the party of anti-communism and tax-cutting under President Kennedy, it is now dominated by a surging socialist movement and led by a presidential candidate who vows to “transform” America. In Countdown to Socialism, Congressman Devin Nunes exposes the nexus between the Democratic Party, the mainstream media, and the social media corporations. These three entities cooperate to blast out the Democrats’ message and downplay their extremism while suppressing and censoring conservative points of view.

In this deeply personal show, the legendary Peabody Award-winning journalist takes audiences through the most pivotal moments of his life, from surviving a debilitating illness as a child in Depression-era Texas to covering monumental moments in American history such as the Civil Rights movement, the assassination of JFK, and Watergate.

Dan, Dan DAN DAN! Daaaan!
Revisado: 08-25-20
Wow Dan tell us how you really feel. Respect to the man for his history in broadcasting. He is no Walter Cronkite admittedly, who could report on facts with out opinion; so the listeners could formulate their own. Dan shares how the transition of media from newspaper, radio and ultimately television became the source for news to the American listener and viewers in the late 1950's. Television took off; it had a major importance on society. Very telling.
Also telling about Rather, is his rant at the end. Made in February 2020, he chooses to spin unsubstantiated facts and proven falsehoods regarding the current president. Then he backs the statement with pleas to keep the press free to do and say what they like by ensuring the First Amendment is kept in tact. Really? Was it ever under attack like other Constitutional Amendments are?
I listened to this as research into the mind of an Old Timer Broadcaster. He, like others in our government who wish to influence in their late 80's early 90's should do so within the realms of retirement; in the comfort of their own homes. It's all so pretentious and with all their false humility. Dan Rather can not help himself, he is just like the others who claim they know what is best for our country, the United States of America. But do they really?

The Hard Cover Has More Stories In It.
Revisado: 02-24-20
Love this book. William J. Bennett includes beautiful compilations of American history in this great book for children. In the audio you will here, "The Legend of the Grand Canyon", "The Pilgrims and the First Thanksgiving", "Westward With Lewis and Clark", "Paul Bunyan", "Yankee Doodle", "The Story of the Star Spangled Banner", Remember the Alamo", "The Tale of Swing Low, Sweet Chariot", "Margaret of New Orleans", "John Henry and the Steam Drill", "The New Colossus", (Poem of Statue of Liberty), "Martin Luther King's Dream", and the "Eagle Has Landed". But there are so many more stories included in the Hard Copy. It made me sad those stories were not included in the audible version. Stories of Abraham Lincoln, Johnny Appleseed, Robert Lee and a few others. I would love a revised version that included all of these as my children and I follow along in our book. Otherwise, this is a fantastic book to share history not mentioned much in today's school system.

Classic
Revisado: 01-05-20
The Audible rendition of the classic story of Peter Pan is my grand children's first exposure. They are 5 and 7 years old. They loved it. The great cast sets this one apart from others like it. Each character comes alive in their own way, which makes this much more fun to listen to. The production of this story is very good. The children were able to relate to it. Their little imaginations were taken on a great journey.
I wish audible would add more productions of the classics to the originals series.

Historia
Horatio Alger, was a 19th-century American author who wrote over 100 novels. Many of his works have been called "rags to riches" stories, describing how down-and-out boys achieve the American Dream of wealth and success through hard work, courage, determination, and concern for others. Because of this Alger is a a significant figure in the history of American cultural and social ideals.

Dignity of a Young Man
Revisado: 12-23-19
As Thomas Nelson makes his way to California during the "Gold rush" he faces lesson on how to conduct one self on the independent journey. In the process he meets vagabonds, adventurers, gentlemen and foriegners alike.
Horacio Alger writes with a divine respect for life. The hero is sometimes niave, but is open for correction and advice from kind people who teach him common sense practices most people in todays society would be encouraged to adhere to. Some common themes are do unto others as you would have do unto you. Or having a greatful heart. The best one is you don't always have to be rewarded when you practice at least both of these attributes.
Lastly, this adventure finishes with a I hope a new one beginning? The need to search out the next episode is hardpressed on my mind, if anyone knows what it is I will be grateful for the title.

Voice diction and pitch fluctuation un-relaxing
Revisado: 07-27-19
Difficult to relax to this. I would start to relax and then a spoken word that had too much pitch fluctuation or a distracting comment about when we feel stress, reminded me of my thoughts of those stresses.
