I can now say that I am a fan now. That wasn't the case prior to listening to Mr. Sanders.
He did a great job giving us in sights into his life and share some fundamentals and encouragement to survive and succeed in life.

Historia
After a traffic stop turns violent at the hands of the police, a young Black teen grapples with racism—and what it means for his future. Critically acclaimed author Nic Stone boldly tackles America’s troubled history with race relations in her gripping debut novel. Justyce is a good kid, an honor student, and always there to help a friend—but none of that matters to the police officer who just put him in handcuffs without cause. When faced with injustice, Justyce looks to the teachings of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. for answers. But do they hold up anymore?

Historia
This explosive new audiobook challenges many of the long-held assumptions about blacks, about Jews, about Germans and Nazis, about slavery, and about education. Plainly written, powerfully reasoned, and backed with a startling array of documented facts, Black Rednecks and White Liberals takes on the trendy intellectuals of our times as well as historic interpreters of American life.

"Bootstrap"
Revisado: 07-15-21
There are many truths here, but damn. I understand that the author wants blacks to stop making excuses, but he give not acknowledgement of policies that are in place and have been in place for decades. I too feel and know a person has the ability to pull themselves up above thier circumstances, but I also know we have to change policies that specifically hold one section, group or class of people back.
This book is full of half truths; it is worth reading if you want the view point of a person from the republican right.

Excellent all around!
Revisado: 03-10-21
I loved the book! I could draw many parallels to my own life from this young man that grew up in the country and where I grew up in the city. I'm not sure if it was because of the book, or because of my age, or where I am in my life but I found reflecting on where I've come from, been, and how I've got here. Most importantly I'm focused on where I am and the success of my family. I'm making a plan on how I too can impact change.

Historia
In Dog Whistle Politics, Ian Haney Lopez offers a sweeping account of how politicians and plutocrats deploy veiled racial appeals to persuade white voters to support policies that favor the extremely rich yet threaten their own interests. Dog-whistle appeals generate middle-class enthusiasm for political candidates who promise to crack down on crime, curb undocumented immigration, and protect the heartland against Islamic infiltration, but ultimately vote to slash taxes for the rich.

Historia
How did Fidel Castro fool the CIA for a generation? Why did Neville Chamberlain think he could trust Adolf Hitler? Why are campus sexual assaults on the rise? Do television sitcoms teach us something about the way we relate to each other that isn't true? While tackling these questions, Malcolm Gladwell was not solely writing a book for the page. He was also producing for the ear. In the audiobook version of Talking to Strangers, you’ll hear the voices of people he interviewed - scientists, criminologists, military psychologists.

Not enough insight

Just not enough insight into the psychology of why we make bad decisions. I would not recommend.
