Historia
The Catenan Republic—the Hierarchy—may rule the world now, but they do not know everything. I tell them my name is Vis Telimus. I tell them I was orphaned after a tragic accident three years ago, and that good fortune alone has led to my acceptance into their most prestigious school. I tell them that once I graduate, I will gladly join the rest of civilized society in allowing my strength, my drive, and my focus—what they call Will—to be leeched away and added to the power of those above me, as millions already do. As all must eventually do.

Revisado: 05-28-24
Wow! That was a lot. A young man put in a position to take down a corrupt hierarchical society... and it's so much more than that. Great characters, and I am still not sure who Vis can trust. I will be read book 2, because that ending can only mean one thing. The ride isn't over!

Drawn into an uneasy alliance with the mysterious vampire Liathe, Gabriel must now deliver the Grail to ancients of the Blood Esani, and learn the truth of how Daysdeath might be finally undone. But the Last Silversaint faces peril, within and without. Pursued by terrors of the Blood Voss, drawn into warfare between the Blood Dyvok and duskdancers of the frozen Highlands, and ravaged by his own rising bloodlust, Gabriel may not survive to see the Grail learn her truth.

This was a really great time. The dialog peppered with crude insults was 100 % pure joy for me. Although I'm someine who appreciates a great side characters (and there are a few here) I love Gabriel as a main character. He's flawed, and crude, and often brutal, but family... especially found family is worth fighting for and that ending... I'm already highly anticipating the 3rd book.

I was pleasantly surprised to find myself back in The Banished Lands 100 yrs after the final battle in Wrath, book 4 of The Faithful and The Fallen. Evil afoot and dread creeping in... animal companions, and a people who fight with honor... yes, yes, yes... OH, such edge of my seat hand to hand, blade to blade, combat!! I've cried more than once, and laughed just a little. I love these characters. Truth and Courage!
