Historia
Every day, psychotherapist Dr. Annie Zimmerman meets clients in her London practice who are struggling with their lives. They’re committed to achieving personal growth, making changes—but they’re struck at the question stage. They ask her: Why do I keep going back to a bad relationship? Why did I lose my temper? What is wrong with me? Here’s the thing: nothing is wrong with them. It’s just that they’re asking themselves the wrong questions. In Your Pocket Therapist, Dr. Zimmerman helps listeners delve into their past to identify unhelpful old patterns and teach them how to unlock the present.

Just like the title this is pocket therapy, of course if you can afford one in person do that. But great job by the Author all around. I learnt a lot and this book reinforced things I am aware of and practicing. Very well done.

Historia
Trauma is a fact of life. Veterans and their families deal with the painful aftermath of combat; one in five Americans has been molested; one in four grew up with alcoholics; one in three couples have engaged in physical violence. Dr. Bessel van der Kolk, one of the world’s foremost experts on trauma, has spent more than three decades working with survivors. In The Body Keeps the Score, he uses recent scientific advances to show how trauma literally reshapes both body and brain, compromising sufferers’ capacities for pleasure, engagement, self-control, and trust.

Historia
One of today's most inspiring world leaders was once an ordinary child named Lhamo Thondup. In a small village in Tibet, his mother was his first great teacher of compassion. In everyday moments from his childhood, young listeners begin to see that important lessons are all around us, and that they, too, can grow to truly understand them. The Dalai Lama shares the universalist teachings of treating one another with compassion. In an increasingly confusing world, The Seed of Compassion offers guidance and encouragement on how we all might bring more kindness to it.

Historia
Money - investing, personal finance, and business decisions - is typically taught as a math-based field, where data and formulas tell us exactly what to do. But in the real world people don’t make financial decisions on a spreadsheet. They make them at the dinner table, or in a meeting room, where personal history, your own unique view of the world, ego, pride, marketing, and odd incentives are scrambled together. In The Psychology of Money, award-winning author Morgan Housel shares 19 short stories exploring the strange ways people think about money.

What an incredible story!
Revisado: 12-08-21
I have always wondered how Michelle Obama kept it all together. Through the negativity and racism coming towards her and praise from those who understood her position. I Wondered who she really was. I always secretly admired her poise but now in her own words and admission I understand how she survived. It makes her extraordinary through the choices she made, an example to us all, being honest and candid thorough and complete. In this book she wrote I now know a little bit more about her. I am grateful for her service to this country, candidness, openness and love. I truly admire Michelle Obama though I've never met her. What I've read here or listen to makes it clear that minorities can hold political office and do good, struggle, and succeed. But it is important to maintain our ideals through it all. Michelle has shown us we all can do good thank you for writing this, thank you for being open, I truly truly admire you.

Historia
Statistics show that 50 percent of what determines divorce is genetic temperament. And, if you are one of the 20 percent of people who are born highly sensitive, the risk of an unhappy relationship is especially high. Your finely tuned nervous system, which picks up on subtleties and reflects deeply, would be a romantic asset if both you and your partner understood you better. But without that understanding, your sensitivity is likely to be making your close relationships painful and complicated.

Another brilliant book by Elaine Aaron I cannot express in words alone how grateful I am that someone like you took the time to do the research and write a book like this. I feel like this is a map to traits I possess and helps me better understand myself so I can be the kind and loving person I want to be. From the bottom of my heart I am truly grateful, what a great book.
