As Jeremy and Audrey write, if you can fall into love, you can fall out. True love is something you choose to live out each day through your actions, decisions, and sacrifices. To find and still seek, now that is love. From the moment you meet your potential spouse, you can be intentional about shaping a beautiful love story, uniquely written for who God created you both to be.

Here are some thoughts from a married, 35 year-old mom of 5, including, 2 autistic sons:
What I thought would be a quick read for the weekend has turned into something that has the potential to be life changing in the approach to not only my 18+ year marriage but also for praying and guiding my 4 sons: ages 8-16 and daughter: turning 21 on Tuesday!
I was a very young bride of 17 marrying into a readymade family. I joined my husband raising his daughter since she was only 2 years old and we have added 4 sons to the mix. I was New Wife and Mom in an instant and I have made it through, like Jeremy, by the seat of my pants (though mine are petite cut).
Each chapter brought a new thought and practical application that I saw could be of value in my daily life. I am inspired to find out more about love languages. I can see why things I would do, such as touching my autistic son before speaking to him is so effective.
I plan to have the boys listen in the car with me as we drive to and from school. To be able to instill some of these lessons, directly from down-to-earth young role models before they give their hearts away, is priceless.
I especially appreciated the examination of purity in the Church. Even though I did save myself for my husband (even my first kiss) I was without practical guidance and still would struggle with the ambiguity of what was “required” for my purity. We didn’t make it to our wedding day, but I am happy that he was my first and only.
My story aside, the vulnerability and openness displayed by the authors was refreshing and encouraging. I highly recommend this book. I would love to read it with my husband; I have a new peace and I am encouraged to pray the armor of God over him, my daughter, and my sons.
I am genuinely intrigued by these young people and their “so far memoir”. I am excited to read more.
I would say that no matter where you are in you own story, there is some nugget of wisdom for you. So, if you’re on the fence, get it on Audible to listen. If you aren’t touched and inspired, return it, but I would guess you would want to read it again and share it. Start by giving it a try, then Lock it in.

Historia
Like many others on the autism spectrum, 20-something stand-up comic Michael McCreary has been told by more than a few well-meaning folks that he doesn’t “look” autistic. But, as he’s quick to point out in this memoir, autism “looks” different for just about everyone with autism spectrum disorder (ASD).

My 16 year-old son also had ASD, and we first heard Mike perform at an Asperger Experts workshop. I couldn’t spend my audible credit fast enough last night and we started listening today on the long drive home from school. Lots of laugh out loud moments so far and the kids are begging to listen to more. Thanks for being a voice (and several characters) for the ASD community!
