Would be better off marketed as a YA novel

I thought I had stumbled upon a lost book in the Backyard Starship series when I first started to listen to this book. I had to go look to see which book was published first and saw Backyard came out a few years before SitS. The similarities are a little too close. Spaceship found in the main characters backyard. Wisecracking AI. Round up a motley group of characters to form a crew. I was waiting for Perry to swoop into the middle at any minute.
Everything happened way too quickly jumping from one scene of peril to the next. Not much character development. I listened all the way to the end because I had already spent the money. I'm not planning on listening to Book 2.

I loved this book. Space Case started something that had potential. Then Spaced Out which was better. Then Waste of Space was even better giving the story the best ending a story could offer. I fully reccomend all of the Moon Base Alpha novels!!!

Could have been an interesting story buy the author had a preoccupation with sex, having sex, talking about sex, and having more sex. The story of the greater thans gets lost in all the sex.
