Great insight; unstructured.

Still relevant after nearly a decade. Valuable insights from leading leadership experts. It's a wandering conversation/interview, not a structured class. I find the best way to approach this content is to 1) commit to listen to it at least twice and 2) listen for the nuggets most useful to you.

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

I would recommend my friends read the paper or e-book themselves. The content is 10-out-of-10 but the reading by the authors is painful.

Who was your favorite character and why?

My favorite part was about how a leader can install this thinking in their organizations.

Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Kory Kogon and Adam Merrill ?

Any professional who knows how to read so that it sounds natural and how to teach concepts from non-fiction books.

Did The 5 Choices inspire you to do anything?

Oh, yes. Despite the painful reading by the authors (and I get that my complaint about the unprofessional reading is just my opinion), I pushed through. Lots of valuable insights. The best insight: my tendency to find new, improved organizations systems can be escapist. My work is to lead myself not wait for the perfect system.

Any additional comments?

Can you re-record it? I'd buy it again to hear it read well. Can the producers find better ways to dissuade authors who shouldn't from reading their own work?

Beautiful, Tough Ideas Explained

Sean Carroll knows how to communicate tough concepts. He makes things like symmetry breaking easy to understand. Love his sense of humor and wonder.

Matt Ridley's ideas challenge conventional wisdom, yours and mine. You need not side with him on every issue but I strongly encourage you to consider the value of rational optimism as a way to solve our biggest problems.
