Historia
When Margaret and her husband Hal bought the large Victorian house on Hawthorn Street—for sale at a surprisingly reasonable price—they couldn’t believe they finally had a home of their own. Then they discovered the hauntings. Every September, the walls drip blood. The ghosts of former inhabitants appear, and all of them are terrified of something that lurks in the basement. Most people would flee. Margaret is not most people. Margaret is staying.

Interesting
Revisado: 10-15-23
Interesting take on a haunted house story. Unexpected plot lines but still kept a good level of scariness mixed in with deeper issues , and also some humor.

Historia
"Mom seems off." Her brother's words echo in Sam Montgomery's ear as she turns onto the quiet North Carolina street where their mother lives alone. She brushes the thought away as she climbs the front steps. Sam's excited for this rare extended visit, and looking forward to nights with just the two of them, drinking boxed wine, watching murder mystery shows, and guessing who the killer is long before the characters figure it out. But stepping inside, she quickly realizes home isn’t what it used to be.

Narrator Kills It
Revisado: 04-04-23
The story is okay, lot of filler stuff before getting to any of the actual substance. I have 48 minutes left and feel eh about even finishing it. I hated the way the narrator played the main character , sounded very dorky and child like, kind of ruined it for me and make it difficult to listen to.

Historia
"Something is murdering my men." Thus reads the message received from a Nazi commander stationed in a small castle high in the remote Transylvanian Alps. Invisible and silent, the enemy selects one victim per night, leaving the bloodless and mutilated corpses behind to terrify its future victims. When an elite SS extermination squad is dispatched to solve the problem, the men find something that's both powerful and terrifying. Panicked, the Nazis bring in a local expert on folklore - who just happens to be Jewish - to shed some light on the mysterious happenings.

Solid Story
Revisado: 03-05-23
Very much into horror novels , particularly vampire ones and somehow I’d never heard of this author until recently when I listened to another book by him called Midnight Mass. I then heard this was very popular and I have to say the story was very solid and kept me listening pretty much non-stop throughout the whole weekend .

I have 34 minutes left and I’m bored. All of the characters are unlikeable and the plot line was kind of absurd. Meh.

Historia
When she stumbles across the ad, she’s looking for something else completely. But it seems like too good an opportunity to miss - a live-in nannying post, with a staggeringly generous salary. And when Rowan Caine arrives at Heatherbrae House, she is smitten - by the luxurious “smart” home fitted out with all modern conveniences, by the beautiful Scottish Highlands, and by this picture-perfect family. What she doesn’t know is that she’s stepping into a nightmare - one that will end with a child dead and herself in prison awaiting trial for murder.

Slow
Revisado: 05-30-20
Not sure what I’m missing after so many good reviews but I thought the story was extremely slow moving and uneventful and I was not a fan of the plot twist at the end. Seemed like it was an incredibly long and slow build up for a few sentence “shocking twist” that was lackluster. Performance was fine but just did not really enjoy the story.
