JWs are often told they will ensure great persecution but this intimate story really highlights how much of that persecution is of their own design. The loss that was suffered… I don’t cry often but I did this time.

There odds a good balance of humor, action, and character building in this series and every so often the author throws in something philosophical to the mix. I recommend this series to anyone who likes litrpg or fantasy books.

This piqued my interest due to current events and my love for fantasy. I enjoyed it, though I need the second book now. The only thing that o struggled with was trying to keep the characters all straight but I imagine that was mostly due to interruptions.

I don't cry reading books very often but Jodi Piccoult did an incredible job of taking me on an emotional rollercoaster with this title. It was not written as I had anticipated it would be, that became apparent immediately. I love it.

While I feel like it occasionally went back-and-forth on the experience points or skill levels I did find the book very enjoyable and would recommend it for anyone who is into fantasy type books. I didn’t actually go back and check that the experience points changed because I was listening if I had the actual book I may have gone back to see.

The concept is good and while I enjoyed each story this is really a few short stories and none of them have any finality. I wondered the whole time when we would find out what the alchemist did, don’t hold your breath, never found out.
