So twisted and cringe and VERY Will Trent! This cannot be read as a standalone, so if you've not yet treated yourself to this series, start at book 1 today!

I liked the sex scenes, whoo hoodoo!, but the female narrator was dreadful. I plan to listen to book 3 and I hope it's Cale's story!

It should be illegal for a book to have a fantastic cover, a misleading description, and a terrible plot that features a hauntING house, a girl who masturbates with a rusty screw, and grease-filled men. How exactly would fans of "I'll Be Gone In The Dark" love this book?

I read and listened to this trash. The narrator was more haunting than the plot with her vocal fry and monotone droning

I relate to this story so much. I, too, am a word nerd who left an abusive husband and who loves cycling class. This was a really fun, suspenseful novella.

I would have liked to hear a book that tracked the actual, riveting description. There was too much focus on the backgrounds of 2 people, not enough about the actual topic.

How does Molly Happier consistently create these worlds I want to live in???

I loved that this installment of the Southern Eclectic series was from Frankie's perspective. She's such a confident character who takes immense pride in her profession.

How does Molly Harper consistently create worlds I want to immerse myself in? Lake Sackett sounds like the perfect place to live, not a place you desperately want to escape! I love these small town books.

I love Margot, and I love the story of how she ended up in Lake Sackett. Meeting all her down-home southern family, drinking "sweet tea" for the first time, going from working high-end events to working in a funeral home? It all works, and it's all hysterical.

When Margot learns that all sodas as called "Coke", I shuddered in sympathy. Having recently moved to Georgia myself, I knew her confusion. And when she learns that "sweet tea" is, in fact, disgusting, I was with her. When I first moved here and realized that bread served with dinner was a honey soaked sweet roll, I was repulsed.

The narration by Amanda Ronconi was, as usual, perfection. She does a perfect man voice, and a great southern twang.

This book is "Doc Hollywood" meets that Renee Zellwegger movie where she goes to the arctic or wherever. It's great!

This is too slow, and not at all as good as the Jane Doe series. Hannah is introduced to the reader as a career-focused, childless woman in her forties, very much like the Jane Doe character. But the book fails to deliver the same excitement or snarkiness I've come to expect from this author's books. Maybe I was just spoiled by Jane Doe.

I like the narrator.

This book started out strong: Dex and Bianca meet, and Bianca's prejudice against rich people cause Dex to pretend he's not the richest man in the city. It was cute.

But midway through the book, I don't know what the hell happened. The connection was forced. There was nothing between the characters that had me believing they were so into each other.

Also, the cover of the book is a sex, shirtless man with abs, but the book has very little sex. Meh.

The narration was not good. Sebastian York was solid, as he usually is, but I'm just not into Andi Arndt. She reads too hypnotically, I zone out, and then I have to rewind her chapters more often than not.
