I LOVE this book. It was so good it almost , made me cry. TOTALLY read it.
BUT.
The author REALLY underestimates kids. I mean, don’t get me wrong, I love sophi’s character, along with autumn and all the others, but they act like six year olds. They’re supposed to be eleven. That’s fifth or sixth grade. This story would be much more believable and compelling if she wasn’t so age biased. It’s honestly like she’s never been a kid.
Don’t let that keep you from reading it though! It’s totally worth it, just pretend she’s six and you’ll be crying along with her 😉

Ok, so because I know you hate reviews that are like “this is amazing BUT”, I’m just gonna get right to the point: if they could turn back the clock and do it like they did it in season ten, it would be a dream come true! It’s was funnier and more personal and gave a better learning experience.
Please please please Brandon, Dan, Mary and Howard, read this review and make it just you four again! I don’t mind an occasional guest, but this ‘it can never be Al four of us alone again’ idea has ruined the entire podcast for me.
Yup, Writing Excuses used to be my favorite podcast, but now listening to it is a chore and makes my heart hurt.
Please hear my plea, and revive the beauty we lost!

Awesome Middle Grade fantasy!

This is such an awesome and entertaining read! I highly recommend it for all middle grade fantasy lovers! Great for fans of Percy Jackson and Harry Potter.
The narration on this title is amazing, so it’s just as great a book to listen to as it is to read.
I would recommend this book for 9–13 year olds, but it is also a great family read.
Brandon Mull is such a great storyteller! Mythical and magical, the entire Fablehaven series is one of the best YA fantasy reads out there! Totally worth the credit!
