Good story
Revisado: 07-20-21
The story was good, but the narrator's accent didn't even resemble Irish most of the time, in my opinion. That made it a little less enjoyable.

Historia
With the legends and lore of Ireland running through his blood, falconer Connor O’Dwyer is proud to call County Mayo home. It’s where his sister, Branna, lives and works, where his cousin, Iona, has found true love, and where his childhood friends form a circle that can’t be broken. A circle that is about to be stretched out of shape - by a long-awaited kiss. Meara Quinn is Branna’s best friend, a sister in all but blood. Her and Connor’s paths cross almost daily, as Connor takes tourists on hawk walks and Meara guides them on horseback across the lush countryside.

Good story, mediocre narration

I didn't care for the narrator or his accent. So much of it sounded forced and fake. Enjoyed the story though.

Historia
After a lifetime on the move, Ivy Snow is an expert in all things temporary - schools, friends, and way too many Mr. Wrongs. Now that she owns a successful taco truck in San Francisco and an apartment to call home, Ivy’s reinvented life is on solid ground. And she’s guarded against anything that can rock it. Like the realities of a past she’s worked hard to cover up. And especially Kel O’Donnell. Too hot not to set off alarms, he screams temporary. If only his whispers weren’t so delightfully naughty and irresistible.

Great book, so-so narrator
Revisado: 01-02-20
The story was excellent (as usual with Jill Shalvis), but there was something about the narrator's voice that grated on my nerves a bit. T way she dragged out the last letter sound in a sentence, especially if it ended with an "R" sound. It's not a deal breaker like a whiny or nasal-sounding voice might have been, but she isn't a favorite.
Don't let that stop you from listening, though... the story is still worth it!

Historia
As the sole survivor of the car crash that killed her parents, grief-stricken paramedic Kit MacKlenna is stunned to learn her life is built on lies. A legacy from her father includes a faded letter and a well-worn journal. The journal reveals she was abandoned as a baby 160 years ago. The only clues to her identity are a blood-splattered shawl, a locket with the portrait of a 19th century man, and a Celtic brooch with magical powers.

Not bad, but not my favorite.
Revisado: 09-05-18
The story was pretty good, but I struggled not to roll my eyes through some of the dialogue. It just didn't sound natural at times...more like a romance novel cliche than the way actual people would talk to each other. The narrator's voice wasn't annoying, but I didn't really care for her interpretation of a Scottish accent. (I mean, sure...not everyone can be Davina Porter, but you could definitely tell it was fake.)
I'm still undecided about using a credit for book 2, so I guess that says something about it as well.

Another great one, but...
Revisado: 05-02-11
I loved this book, except for one thing...I took off one star for the female narrator. They should have let Simon Prebble read the whole thing instead of only 2 of the 4 stories, because (in my opinion) the woman who read the other two did a horrible job. You could hardly tell one character from another, and she over-acted everything. If you can get past that, you will enjoy it too.

Glad to see a favorite author FINALLY in audio...
Revisado: 03-31-11
I loveTeresa Medeiros as an author, and have read every one of her books. I enjoyed this one as much as any of the others, and can't wait for more--both in print and audio.
That said, I really don't care for this narrator. She did a decent job with Catriona (except for the fact that she pretty much sounded like a 12-year-old girl throughout the story,) and the accents were OK, but her voice is just too high-pitched to successfully pull off the male characters' voices. Here's hoping that they'll consider getting someone else when they put another Teresa Medeiros book on audio.

Best-selling author Rachel Gibson is acclaimed for her quick-witted and endearing romances. True Love and Other Disasters begins as the Seattle Chinooks hockey team owner dies, bequeathing the team to his young widow, Faith. Faith is determined to be taken seriously as the owner, and she’s not going to let anyone—especially dreamy star player Ty Savage—get in her way.

Loved It!
Revisado: 03-17-11
Rachel Gibson is on my list of favorite authors, and I really enjoyed this book. I took off one star simply because I wished the end hadn't come so soon...maybe if she'd tacked on an epilogue, I could have given that last one. Susan Bennett did a good job narrating. It has been difficult for me to listen to some of my other purchases because the narrators' voices got on my nerves partway through the book, but that was not a problem here. (And as a bonus, I also think she did a great job reading the steamier parts of the story!)

Historia
English magicians were once the wonder of the known world, with fairy servants at their beck and call; they could command winds, mountains, and woods. But by the early 1800s they have long since lost the ability to perform magic. They can only write long, dull papers about it, while fairy servants are nothing but a fading memory.

Revisado: 07-05-09
I'm only about an hour into part 2 of this audiobook, and it's really starting to grate on my nerves. The story is advancing so slowly that I honestly don't know if I'm going to be able to stand it long enough to finish it. What a waste of a credit...

Historia
In the days when Scotland lay under siege - from the Vikings who sailed from the north and the Norman English who came from the south - King David sought to unite his people into one nation. For this, he needed loyal warriors. Waryk de Graham soon proved the greatest of these fighters, and was knighted Lord Lion. But his honored position came with a price: a wife chosen for him by the king - a reluctant Viking bride.

Painfully slow start...
Revisado: 01-13-09
I almost abandoned this one after the first chapter or two, but the fact that I had already spent one of my credits on it kept me listening. Fortunately it ended well, because I would have been seriously ticked off if it hadn't improved in Part 2. I wanted to smack the self-centered, stubborn and whiny heroine soon after she was introduced. I did feel sorry for the hero, however, because he ended up with her. And in spite of her relatively decent imitations of the characters' accents, the reader just couldn't quite nail the right emotions the words were meant to convey. (Furious sounded a lot like pleading to me.) My advice: don't bother.

What happened to the diamonds? If you've read or listened to It's in His Kiss, you'll want to know. Don't miss this charming and passionate addendum, in which Gareth proves that some things get better with age, Hyacinth gains new respect for her mother (with a daughter like Isabella, she'd have to, wouldn't she?), and everyone learns that while diamonds are lovely, sometimes tenacity is a girl's best friend.

Worst Narrator EVER!!!
Revisado: 11-05-08
The narrator makes every character sound nasal, whiny and seriously annoying. I don't know who hired this man, but they should be ashamed, and the narrator should be banned from ever recording another word.
The continuation of the story is good, but you might want to consider reading it in print instead.
