Historia
It was one of the most searing images of the twentieth century: two young boys, two princes, walking behind their mother’s coffin as the world watched in sorrow—and horror. As Princess Diana was laid to rest, billions wondered what Prince William and Prince Harry must be thinking and feeling—and how their lives would play out from that point on.

Honest, vulnerable, captivating
Revisado: 02-03-23
Hats off to Prince Harry! This was an astounding autobiography. I fell in love with him and Megan. The writing is excellent, the stories engrossing and sometimes unbelievable. I loved the details of how he shopped for clothes and groceries. Loved his romance with Megan. I very rarely give five stars to books, but this I'd highly recommend. I'd give it six stars if I could.

A must-read true story!
Revisado: 03-07-22
I did not want to stop reading this. It is almost unbelievable that one person could go through so much, and yet it's a true story! Because Shelly experienced so much, her eventual triumph over her struggles is that much more exquisite.
I think anyone trying to get over just about any type of hardship will identify with and find comfort in Shelly's incredible story. I was often moved to tears and also would yell out in disbelief at certain points in the narrative. I found myself cheering when good prevailed and was deeply grateful for the angels in her life (earthly and other-worldly).
I am an avid reader, and this book is definitely on my favorites list. Not only is the story captivating, but it's also really well written. Beautiful Ashes is a must read!!

Meet Ove. He's a curmudgeon - the kind of man who points at people he dislikes as if they were burglars caught outside his bedroom window. He has staunch principles, strict routines, and a short fuse. People call him "the bitter neighbor from hell". But behind the cranky exterior there is a story and a sadness.

Historia
Best-selling author Mary Roach returns with a new adventure to the invisible realm we carry around inside. Roach takes us down the hatch on an unforgettable tour. The alimentary canal is classic Mary Roach terrain: The questions explored in Gulp are as taboo, in their way, as the cadavers in Stiff and every bit as surreal as the universe of zero gravity explored in Packing for Mars. Why is crunchy food so appealing? Why is it so hard to find words for flavors and smells? Why doesn’t the stomach digest itself? How much can you eat before your stomach bursts?

didn't really enjoy

does contain some interesting information, but it seems to be a little more sensational than informative. Or maybe just not information that I was interested in.

The Arsenal of Democracy tells the incredible story of how Detroit answered the call, centering on Henry Ford and his tortured son Edsel, who, when asked if they could deliver 50,000 airplanes, made an outrageous claim: Ford Motor Company would erect a plant that could yield a “bomber an hour”. Critics scoffed: Ford didn’t make planes; they made simple, affordable cars. But bucking his father’s resistance, Edsel charged ahead.

Don't hesitate to get this book!
Revisado: 05-20-15
The only reason why I bought this book is that the reviews were so good. The title made me worry it would be boring. Fortunately, the reviews were right on! I would recommend this book to anyone.
I happened to live 20 minutes away from the Willow Run factory and never even knew it existed until now. Amazing. The best part about this book was definitely the in-depth look at the characters. I have such a deep respect for Edsel Ford!

I really enjoyed listening to this book, although sometimes it was difficult to stomach. My one criticism is that I felt like the author should not have used the F word at all. This was not the type of book to use bad language, and I would have appreciated it if she hadn't.
